Anybody running HS 2" lift coils by @HeadStrong Off-Road? How do they compare to OME 884's as far as performance off-road and comfort on the road in combination with 5100's? Chime in TW!

I'll let you know as soon as mine show up, although I'm starting to wonder when that will be. I ordered on Saturday and got my confirmation but even after I sent a follow-up email yesterday morning asking if there was an ETA on the processing/shipping, it's still crickets. Hmmm.

Anywhoo, I can't compare to OME since I've never owned any, but I will be able to attest to how things ride on my 5100's.

    That's unusual.

    I'd give Marie a call.

I IM'd a coworker and guess what?...they are sitting on my desk. I have stuff shipped to work for various reasons (a loading dock being one) and I have been working from home the last 3 days. I was just expecting an email with a tracking number because it says on their web site and in my confirmation email that their process works that way. But, I'm not complaining. I'm off to work to pick it up. Tomorrow morning, I shall start the mounting process. I'm getting kinda giddy about it.

Oooohhh, shiny. Almost too pretty to mount under my truck. Almost.

None. You just need a competent alignment tech.

Got er done today. Excellent product from @HeadStrong Off-Road! I am so happy I did this. I found out my stock springs must have had a little sag which disappointed me for having only 43,000 on the truck.

Height (measured from center of hub to bottom of fender lip):
    Factory: ~20.25"
Bilstein at 1.75 setting w/stock spring: ~21.25" (an inch...I know, right? WTF?)
Bilstein at 0 setting w/HS spring: ~22.5" (gained 1.25 over my previous setup)

So it's looking like 2.25" of lift (just a slight bit higher on the passenger side, but negligible...like 1/8"). I'm sure, like with all springs this will settle a bit, but the truck looks really good now (imho). Very slight rake because of my Tuff Country AAL in the back. I just added the AAL last weekend so I'm sure they'll settle together. At least that's my theory.

The ride is fantastic. Rougher in the back with the AAL, but I don't mind at all. And the front...hmmm, I can feel more bumps, but they are dampened well. Hard to describe, but I like it better than my previous setup by a long shot. I am truly happy with these.

I will post pics by tomorrow evening. I gotta go have a cigar and some scotch with a pal right now. Cheers!

    Thank you. 265/75/16 Duratracs...so about 32x10.5.

Here is a link to my Tacoma Build - Stage 2 album on Shutterfly: https://jonlarsen.shutterfly.com/pictures/647

I've got to get another pic posting site because normally I would have just put in the embed code for this, but Shutterfly is not straight forward (they suck badly). Long story, but this was the fast and dirty way for posting pics and having descriptions for some of the pics. Since TW will only let you upload one pic at a time (grrrr, really??) I didn't feel like doing that with 40 pics. If someone has a better solution, I'm all ears.

Love your bumper man! How much does it weigh with the winch? And you still got over 2" of lift with it?? I'm starting to think that those @HeadStrong Off-Road coils are way to go for me! By the way did Front Range get any snow last night?

The weather outside is a little too cloudy to tell this morning, but I think all 3 of the 14ers you can see from Denver have some snow on them. The foothills don't have anything yet.

The hidden winch plate weighs 63 and the winch with steel cable comes in at 78 for a total of about 141 lbs. I'm glad you brought that up as I was thinking about that last night...that someone (I don't mean you) is going to chime in and say that's why my front end was sagging and I was only getting an inch out of the Bilsteins/stock coils at the 1.75 setting. However, I lifted this truck with the aal rear and 1.75 front before mounting the winch and the truck looked the same to me and the wife before and after. I'm sure I didn't have more than a .25" drop at the most. I have no proof of that with measurements (sorry), but there were two reasons I bought this winch plate...aesthetics and weight. I like my stock front end and I didn't want some mammoth heavy off-road bumper loading down the front. AND, since I am getting 2.25" of lift with the new coil over factory height (measurements I did take), with the front winch/plate installed, I think that's proof enough that the new winch plate isn't doing much of anything to the front of this truck. 141 lbs isn't much of an impact on the TRD OR. So yeah, maybe I'm confused and the stock springs were drooping almost an inch because of the new plate, but I strongly doubt it.

That all said, if you get these coils and don't have anything else mounted on the front of your truck and you suddenly have over an inch of bro-lean, I will shrug and plead innocent. But I'm not thinking that will happen.
