Is there a video showing a rear brake job for an 09 Tacoma? I've looked everywhere but in the correct places.

Only strip and replace one side at a time! You can use the other side for reference while you're doing the first side. The second side will take you half as long.

+1, just did rear drums today (first time touching drum brakes) first side took about 45 minutes, second side took about 20.

Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
    Same here.

Just a week ago ( Friday, Sept. 15th) I changed out the rear brake shoes and drums with Toyota OEM parts and also replaced all the springs, parts, etc. as well.

This was the very first time, for me as well, that I even addressed the rear brakes since I had first purchased my 2008 Tacoma back in April of 08. This, after the engine has well over 200,000 miles on it and now coming up on 10yrs of age.

Now I was expecting to find the shoes with very little left and the drums desperately needing to be either turned or replaced (this is why I just went ahead and purchased new drums). Well believe it or not, the shoes still have some life in them! They looked like they could have gone on till sometime in the middle of this next coming year and the drums were the same condition!

Needless to say I still went ahead and replaced the rear brake shows and drums because since I was already there at that point I just decided to go ahead and do the job anyway.

That was my experience also, I had a 98 Tacoma that I bought new, I put 89k miles on it before I sold it.
The front brakes pads according to my mechanic had 25% left and the rears had 50% left.

I used his printed inspection sheet to show the perspective buyer. Which help sell the truck.
