Im hearing about new TRD Off-road runners selling for about what I paid for the taco. I love my truck but I really dig the runners, especially with the options.

    No pick up bed. /thread

I sold my runner for a Taco just to have a bed for my hobbies and projects. Guess it all depends on what you need your vehicle for. A SUV and trailer is NOT the same as a truck. Especially not in traffic. But again my needs dictated I get a pickup. Still loved the runner though.

The only trailer I pull has a boat on it and I have bed racks with a spare on top, kind of baha style, so my bed is pretty useless. On the plus side I haven't had to help people move.

    Maybe.

I just remembered the 2018s were rumored to get the 3.5 motors and be unibody construction.

But this was like last year when I read this, no clue what actually changed.

    If it's a 3.5 in 2018 I'd look for a 2017. Certainly test drive both.

Talk me out of a runner? Ok...

    Not manly enough.
Only see chicks driving the 4runners.
    4runners make great grocery getters
    4runners are not trucks.
Your current TRUCK is bad ass.
    Truck > SUV.
    Truck.
    Tacoma.

I love my third gen runner, I also have a first gen Tacoma. The 4runner is nice cause you can seat 4 adults comfortably, throw the dog in the rear hatch and get her out of the rain, easy to maneuver because of the short wheelbase, easily customizable suspension with all the coil springs availiable out there, all of your crap that you would usually have to put in your truck bed stays dry in the back. It's like have a truck with a really nice, heated, no leak canopy. The only bonus to a truck is that you can haul gravel or wood or whatever in it. I use my hitch carrier in the runner to carry my motorcycle around and it's way easier then loading into the bed of a truck. I know you guys are taking about newer rigs but the concepts the same.

It's all good, as long as it's a Toyota. I'm never happy when I don't have truck.
