Nothing I can do now. Hopefully it’ll be ok. My parents are heading up this weekend for the week so we will know soon.

I'm working above round valley lake right now but had to drive to Redding. I noticed about an inch of the white stuff on the ground when I got to work this morning. Then my heater in my tractor broke.

Looks like 27 here now, garden is toast now. Brought the big pup in after I fed him, he stayed outside last night. My friend came out Tuesday to take me to town in my truck since I can't drive yet. Loads of hunters coming up yesterday (Friday). Traffic on Bucks Lake road at 6AM.

I can't believe the hunting traffic this year. I think it's way too populated for me during hunting season.
Did Buck's lake road survive the winter we had? Can I get to Oroville from Quincy yet? I know around Mountain House it was washed out for a bit but haven't been over there in a few months.

The county was doing some work on the road higher up, never made it up there this summer. Road has been open ever since the snow went off. Motorcycles were using the road early also. I had a couple longer trips happening this year, so stayed close to home to "save" the truck. Mojave Desert in April, Blue Lakes area by the Carson Pass late July, then Diamond Lake, Oregon in August.

Mojave was rad! Is that proper description? Some cactus was blooming, not hot yet in late April.

I lived in Chico, Redding and Shingletown for about 11 years. I love the area, but the job market is rougher than 3 days in a Mexican jail.

I think it got put out of sight. Pretty decent group, all of us at least in our 50s if not all 60 to 70. We drank a few beers was all.

Many empty buildings in Quincy. The corner where Pizza Factory was and burned down has a sale pending. Some people partying in a second floor apartment out on the roof started a fire. Insurance companies have been haggling.

I remember working for Wilburn construction and hauling off the old concrete out of there before they opened. So many years have passed since then. Quincey has changed a bit.
Paradise has more empty buildings that full ones. I think it's just too hard to make it these days.

There's just no good paying job growth in the north state. I'd move back in a heartbeat, but the job market is just a huge nope.

My friend bought a house in Paradise over a year ago and sold his house in Q about this time last year. I knew Ralph and Trish a little and the new owners. All did business with the company I worked for. With little logging going on, affecting many. Of course I wonder how they would have done the last 9 years. I was fortunate I guess. Had flipped my 401k and profit sharing from my old job to a IRA, had my 401k from my last job and had money my late mom left my brother and I to retire on. Retired earlier than my older brother.

I turned to my metal detector for answers. It's been working well the last few years. I call it my retirement. More than tripled my wages the last two years. Love it!

Hello all, new to the community, have had my 03 Tacoma for a year now and recently moved back to the area. Have been looking for people to go wheeling with, not too smart to go solo on some of these trails. I'm in the Brownsville-Challenge area, short drive to either Plumas or Tahoe national parks, Couple hours to the Rubicon trail. Any other people in this area?

Heh, I just came through Challenge a few days ago. I was doing a (motorcycle) trip to the Feather R. area. That's a really pretty area.

I think this will jump you to my post. It was almost all pavement though.

Glad to have you on the forums. I used to live in Forbestown off and on. Now I'm in Paradise. I do get over that way ever so often. I love to take day trips to poverty hill for some detecting. And then to cleghorn bar for the same.
