Everything goes in cycles. We had a decade of mild winters, with the ground barely covered for more than a few days at a time, with a more moderate year here and there, then had two in a row where it was packed two feet deep for months, with top ten amounts. And we had that 32" and basically nothing the rest of the year. We ma not have another year for hurricanes like this for a while.

Very prolonged, not taking a direct path, not weakening in colder water.
Family is all okay in FL?

yup. They live 3.5 mi inland, and just on the west side of i95, which is built up a few feet higher than the land where they are. They've been through several hurricanes, and the worse that has happened is a branch from a slash pine hit their fence and broke a section.

I'm okay, I don't have any kind of communication from my house, there are certain areas that do still have cell phone service and internet like the one I'm in right now. Things are FUBAR here, even though the state goverment says things are improving, thats not the reallity I see in the streets. If things don't start really improving soon, it will get completely out of control.

Glad to hear you're ok. House and truck make it through unscathed? I can't imagine what the clean up process must be like or where to even start. Is there access to clean water and food at least?

I was extremely lucky the truck came out without a scratch. Nothing got in to the garage. Some water got in the house, other than that no damage. I was very very lucky. Water service here has been restored. Still no internet or cellphone signal.

Good to hear. I guess having the essentials is the most important.
