Yeah i didn't even get a chance to try it, I figured since you're going slow up the trail (rowher) the spark would be able to keep up, but restricted air zone killed it. Gotta make sure to give it another shot next time.

I saw a video on YouTube where this guy was on his boat driving around the lake and the spark kept up, so I don't see why it shouldn't work for us.

I talked to a DJI guy because I crashed mine a little tipsy and it wouldn't take off. It cost me right at $220 to fix and I asked him about the DJI care and all that covers is the parts it cost to fix, not their labor cost. Of the $220 it cost me, the parts were only $80 and the labor was $140. So it seemed like the $99 for the year wouldn't benefit me unless I wrecked a lot.

My active track works pretty well. I've done my truck going down a road and myself walking down the middle of a creek bed. Both were decently open though. I wouldn't try it in a trail.

I said screw it and bought it. Then again, it's $50 for the spark.

I didn't read the specifics as @uhplifted mentioned, but i did see water damage somewhere in there, and I've seen/read a few things where the drones will lose connection whatever, and Id rather be covered, even if it's not the whole thing.

Active track only works in two ways. Off WiFi on your phone (not recommended due to limited distance) and off the controller. If you have active track set to on it will follow the controller in whichever orientation you want it to go. It will struggle a little if it is in a wooded space flying low but in an open space you can have active track on and have it completely circle you while you are moving if you like.

*EDIT* Make sure you have the return home button set to "controller" instead of original takeoff point.

Pretty cool huh? Now you need to take your pictures in RAW format and develop them in Lightroom and you'll be amazed how well they turn out.

Ya I know that much haha. It's the settings I have to adjust as said below that I can't find. I spent like 5 minutes looking for it and couldn't so I gave up haha. I need to find it before the next time I go shoot video at the track

Good flying skills but definitely not my cup of tea. I'm sorry but I quit watching at 1 min. The flying is top notch as far as sport quads go but if it's not cinematic I just can't watch it. I understand there is a market for these types of crafts but I "personally" want one that stabilizes and takes shots that make you interested in the footage.

    Sample case in point

I spend my time flying to fly, not so much to take cool vids. I rarely use my hd cam on my Copters as it's not uncommon to pimp slap them to the planet. The cinematic side of things is cool, but not really my cup o tea.

Man, fuck DJI. They finally got the new low-noise props in for the Mavic. They want $10 to fucking ship them. Guess I won't be buying those.

Updating my firmware now. It kept bugging me all weekend while I was out of cell range. I looked at the list of updates and it includes firmware for low noise props.

Just out of curiosity.... You paid $1200 for a drone and you won't spring for the $10 shipping??? You can get them off of Amazon for $23 + $1.95 shipping. That's cheap. I suppose $10 extra wouldn't bother me at all if I wanted the props.

The only criticism I can find with DJI is their customer service. Hope that you never have to send it off for repairs or a malfunction. There are horror stories on the DJI forums about how bad DJI's customer service is. But... I highly suggest that if you have a DJI product to join those forums under the subsection of whichever drone you have. They have moderators that are employed with DJI and can assist you and get your drone back to you in a timely manner. They've helped a lot of people over there. DJI makes the best drones, gimbals, etc... Everyone else is playing catchup. Now if they would concentrate on some customer service they would be a total company.

Luckily I haven't experienced a malfunction yet. But like I've mentioned in the past, it's much like riding a motorcycle. It's not a matter of if you'll crash... it's a matter of when. Every time you put it in the air you're taking a chance but that just part of it.

I will not. The props themselves cost $10. These things weigh maybe 2 ounces. To pay the same price of the product in shipping is something I won't do. They could put them in a flat rate box and send it off for $5 or less. I don't want them that bad to pay shipping. I'll check best buy or wait until they sell them on Amazon at a normal price
