Welcome to TW! I used an 86 22r stick for a work truck. I put 186,000 miles on it in 2 1/2 years and trust me they were not gentle miles! I had a lower radiator hose fail and that was it. Even the highly abused clutch lasted. Awesome trucks!

After 100,000 mikes I didn't change the oil. I just added oil. I was a idiot. I just didn't give a damn. It was smashed from 3 different accidents. I just got a check for $4,200 from the insurance company after a rental truck drove across a 4 lane hwy and only made it 3! He hit me so hard I spun and hit a telephone pole. I took a sledge and beat the fender out. Replaced the bumper and replaced the radiator (from the crash) it burned oil because I went 10-15 k miles between oil changes. I put so many miles on it and I paid it off in 2 yrs. I should of bought 2 of those. Drag racing every weekend at union grove Wisconsin Great Lakes Dragway with 1,000 miles.I put I've 300k miles and I beat the shit out of it daily.. hole shots light to light . A four speed manual in this truck and the tires would smoke! I was 19 and it was either pure laziness or I didn't give a damn. Stupid kid.
Now my 2015 and 2017 I am overly anal.
My 15 prerunner I took it in for oil changes @2,900-2,950 miles. My 2017 says every 10k. After the 60k warranty is up ,I'll change it every 5k with mobil1

A few months before i bought my 17. I had an 89 pickup for a year and change. 4wd, 5spd with a 22re. Only replaced a battery, exhaust and parking brake since i owned it. Frame was in very good shape too.

I had a 94...it was a red extended cab 4x4 and looked a lot like yours. Except that mine had been rolled before I bought it so people stayed clear of me when I drove around because it looked like a monster. That truck got me through a lot. Loved it.

Welcome. That truck belongs here for sure. Can't wait so see what you do with it.
