My 2014 Sport secondary air pump is awfully loud, even strangers walking by comment on the noise when I shut the truck off in parking lots. One said it sounded like a spaceship. I did do the filter mod a few months ago it had no effect on the noise level. Only 18,000 miles on the truck, has been this noisy since day one. Is there a way lessen the noise?

Mine is crazy loud too. But I have a 2012 so it only runs at startup. Still gets me funny looks though.

I could not hear it when stock. But after filter mod it's loud only during startup.

Mine is loud at shut down, but I don't even notice it anymore.

Glad to hear its pretty normal to be loud. Now I might see what I can do to make it not so noisy. It's drowning out my Taco Tic.

Did uni mod today. Only hear it on shutdown. It is louder cause there is not all that foam to kill the noise but the thing is it the uni filter mod wont allow the crap i found un mine to destroy the fins. Luckily my fins were good and just removed the junk that was collected in there. I dont mind the noise at all

I have a 2014 Limited 4.0 and just installed a new K&N Intake which required relocating the secondary air pump towards the front of the engine compartment. As a result of the relocation, the plastic cover that I think helped drown out the noise does not fit over the pump anymore (not enough room). Now the whine is really loud at engine shut off... What are the symptoms of debris in the pump fan blades?

I trimmed my cover when i installed mine to make it look a little more "OEM" ish. Ever since, its pretty damn loud...well,"noticeable" more than "LOUD". People ask if I have a turbo sometimes.

I put the old intake back in until I can figure out how to machine my own tri-pod mounts for the relocated Air Pump. The 2 thin risers that come with the K&N are horrible at best and causes more noise due to the air pump vibrating.
