It will also still act as overload protection and trip, but you are correct that the cable between it and the battery is unprotected. That is why you always want your main breaker or fuse as close to the battery as possible.

Better to ask what I have not done.
I moved the 6 position fuse block in the engine bay to the back seat fuse block and moved that 12 position one to the engine bay, while i was doing all that i got a little carried away and made a whole panel to hold the fuse block and the arb plug behind the back seat.

I've been putting off my wiring for a while now but I need to start before it's too cold. I'm planning to run https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000THQ0CQ/ref=ox_sc_act_image_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 and https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00139FQSS/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A6AY1HFZHO49U&psc=1

For wiring those, 4awg wire and ring terminals? Anyone have a preferred source for wire supplies? To summarize what I've read, keep the wire as short as possible between my breaker and battery, then I assume fabbing a plate and connecting my corresponding harnesses and fuses to the new block?

Correct 4awg w/ ring terminals, for the ring terminals get 1/4" hole size opening for the Blue Sea Fuse Box and 3/8" for the battery terminals. I like using Waytekwire.com or delcity.net for my supplies when ordering in bulk. But it may be easier for limited qty's to just hop onto Amazon or eBay, Plus you'll get faster shipping

Do you use crimp-on connectors? After digging around on eBay and getting frustrated with the search results I looked up some on crutchfield https://www.crutchfield.com/shopsearch/ring_terminals.html

    Quite a lot!
What gauge cable did you run for the battery and ground? Is it the same gauge for baker to fuse box? Are the relays mounted underneath the panel?

Battery to breaker, breaker to panel, and panel to body ground are all 8g copper wire with copper eyelets. Currently the relays are tied below. I’ve seen some people drill a hole in the panel and run a bolt through it to bolt the relay from the bottom side and that looks very clean
