    hey everyone,

Was working on the truck today, added a dual USB port. Had to take out the radio to fish some wires through. Upon putting the stereo back in, my clock stopped working. Checked the connections to the back of the plugs ad it looked fine. Dont know if i should be checking a fuse or even what one

    key inserted

key turned once to the right

Did you disconnect your negative battery cable before working on your truck? If not maybe you shorted something?

I did not disconnect it unfortunately. I checked a bunch of potential fuses: tail, radio 1, radio 2. All were fine.

So figured it out. When I put my stereo back in I had a bunch of wired in behind the mod right screw. I began screwing it and struck one of the wired shorting it.

It knocked out my dome and reading lamp lights as well as the clock. Swapped out the 7.5Amp fuse from the engine bay and boom. She's good to go.

Lesson learned, if it doesn't go back in exactly as you took it out you're doing something wrong ahha

Glad you got it figured out, anytime you work on anything electrical make sure to unhook the negative battery terminal .. that will prevent from shorting anything out
