There's actually been progress but it's so intermittent that I haven't posted. New rear axle (back to spring-over)/regeared/hydroboost brakes from 2016, steering rack bushings replaced, new inner and outer tie rods/wheel bearings/front coils/front skid plate/batteries, etc. recently.

I still have to rebuild 1 shock, clean up some wiring, and get it aligned but it doesn't need much. It's just been a long time without much progress. I helped make another kid somewhere along the way so time's been less than available.

 

Yep -- I start mine up and drive it around every now and then just to keep everything moving. Still wouldn't do a long drive in it just yet but it moves under it's own power.

Still, Boyd and I have an ongoing bet on whose will actually be in the road first. Loser pays for the wings at the Pic-A-Lilli

 

I'll grab one today. Embarrassingly, it's got the disused-camper-green thing going on.

Man, the r3 forum has been blowing up for months about that bike!

Speaking of that forum, my old bike has changed hands again and the new guy joined the forum to sell some of the bags. I saw the thread title and knew it had to be my old ride. He put all the bags up for sale but didn't realize what he had.

I gave him the background on the bike and everything that went with it. A few hours later he amended his bst post saying he was keeping the saddlebags and 1 top roll bag. "I tried them on the bike and I just can't let them go. Sorry!"

Felt good to see the bike go to a good home with an owner that appreciates it. That guy got the deal of the century as the guy that bought it from me hit hard times. I'm hoping to see it in the roads one of these days.
