A 1978 or 1979 (forget what year the owner said) Ford Econoline conversion van with a 3,500-watt sound system and a paint job that is truly out of this world!

The woman relaxing in the shotgun seat is the owner's wife, and she didn't mind being in the picture at all. I even commented to her as I was taking the picture that this picture was the "epitome of summertime vanning" or something like that, and got a laugh and a smile...

This is one of those older vans I was talking about earlier that is totally epic in every conceivable way but DOES NOT have air-conditioning! It does, however, have a 302 V8 under the hood. It also has working heat (not that you'd want to drive this beauty in winter)...

You aren't going to see many "stock" vans posted by me to this thread, because while I did take plenty of pictures of relatively stock and untouched vans, let's face it...

Stock vans are rather boring to look at unless you're a diehard enthusiast like me!

This, however, is an exception to the rule! Ford enthusiasts and vanners alike will truly appreciate this particular van...

This is a 1990 Ford Econoline 350 cargo van, still in the possession of the original owner who special ordered it almost 30 years ago. It may seem like just another Econoline cargo van, but trust me when I say that it isn't.

The majority of these vans were no-frills work trucks, especially the ¾-ton and 1-ton models. It isn't that hard to find ½-ton, ¾-ton, and 1-ton Ford cargo vans or cab-chassis/cutaway vans of this era with factory A/C. Quite a few also left the factory with cruise control and tilt steering, based on what I've seen in person and listed for sale on the internet. A decent amount even had factory cassette player. However, the vast majority did not come with a big-block V8 under the hood and a limited-slip rear differential. Most had an inline-6 or small-block V8 sending power to the ground via open rears...

This beast has a 460cid fuel-injected V8, the bulletproof C6 automatic transmission, and a limited-slip rear differential; And that's the way it came from the factory!

It also has A/C (converted to R134a and ICE COLD), cruise, tilt, power windows, and power locks! It even has the original AM/FM cassette player! That's also the original paint. Aside from mild interior upgrades, the A/C retrofit, and normal wear-and-tear stuff like tires, this van is totally stock! I seem to remember the owner telling me it had like 90K original miles. That's even the original paint!

The owner told me he paid $15,000 for this van brand new in 1990!

1988 or 1989 Ford Econoline with a Quigley 4x4 conversion; I forget where it's a ¾-ton or 1-ton (note that it's been debadged), but the owner told me that it has a 351cid V8 and only has a single 20-gallon tank (many ¾-ton and 1-ton Ford trucks and vans came with dual tanks; Even F150s could be equipped with dual tanks). Combined with the added weight added by the 4-wheel drive system, what this translates to is a van that a bit of a drinking problem if you know what I mean...

    ;)

:drunk:A roughly 10 MPG drinking problem, and that's on a good day!

Moving on to the Dodges now...

This is an all-original 1970s shaggin' wagon (specifically a 1977-78 Dodge B-series), or in my opinion, a blank canvas!

^ Nice land yacht. My dad took me to a demolition derby in the early '80s, and we laughed because the track had a policy of "1974 Chrysler Imperial Sedans Not Permitted to Compete." We were like, "sounds like someone cornered the market on winning demo derby strategy!

That trunk tho. You could fit a pool back there. It's like they built a station wagon then thought, "Hey, let's make it a coupe!"

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.

My uncle's bug. He and I are big Colts fans. He painted it himself, and drove it from L.A. to Indy for a Colts game back in the 80's. They let him park right next to the Colts locker room, and after the game the team came out and signed the hood, including Eric Dickerson.
