iPhone 8 / X

To be fair that’s ridiculously cold. Do other phones work in that type of weather?

 

I've had two Androids, a LG and a ZTE that both worked fine in the same conditions the iPhones shutoff in. The ZTE worked after spending all morning in my jacket pocket riding snowmachines at -30°. Just scraped the layer of condensation ice off the screen and went about business like normal.

 

Currently have the 7 plus the 8 does not interest me not much of a upgrade to justify it. The 10 is cool I’m going to wait an get hands on an watch reviews before I pull the trigger.

 

I understand that...that's why zuckerberg covers up his webcams but this iPhone x is constantly gonna be watching you waiting for you to look at it. Still curious to see how it will do with twins and battery power with the a camera always on. What happens if I crack my screen will the front facing camera still get a corrrect reading?

 

Get with the times Scooty. The new note is $1,000. Any new flagship phone will cost that much basically.

They also shut off in hot weather too, happened to me a couple of times.

The camera is in the top bezel. If you mean crack your screen where the camera is .. not sure

 

My screen is cracked and my face time camera can't see me for sh*t but I still got a home button to get me into my phone

 

Doesn’t the screen have to be on to do face id? I imagine it’d destroy your battery if it was always on. And you always have the OG passcode if the camera breaks.

 

just wanted to let you guys know that an iPhone 8 with an otterbox and a pop socket does not work with the qi charger.

When i take the pop socket off ...the qi charger works.

 

Geez I'm still rocking my 16gb 5s. I'd be happy with 32gb

 

I got the 8 plus. My 6 plus still going strong, but my son needed a phone so I gave my 6 plus to him. I would’ve went for the X but $300 more and I’m not sure face ID is fully worked out, plus I didn’t want to wait till November because my son was starting school and needed a phone sooner.

Maybe in a couple years I’ll go for whatever’s new at that point.

The 8 plus seems noticeably snappier than my 6 plus but nothing mind blowing.

I picked up some AirPods. I love these things. No cords between left/right is nice. No volume control on them but I have an Apple Watch that handles that. The battery lasts about 4 hours so I bough a second pair so I’m wearing one pair and the other pair are on the charger so I never have to worry about waiting for charge.

 

Preliminary ship date is next Friday ... probably going straight on eBay as some of them are going for $2400 +

I don’t remember actually, I haven’t sold anything on eBay in years.

My phone was shipped, should arrive tomorrow barring a catastrophe.

 

I upgraded from a iPhone 6 to the iPhone X on Friday.
The iPhone X is really, really good. Well worth the $ and actually exceeds the hype.
Face ID is super fast, like less than 1 second. It will work better for me than touch id because it works if your hands are dirty or wet and if you have gloves on.
In my use it even works well with sunglasses and a hat.

 

Good to know, I still don't have my hands on mine yet. Shipping issues but I might actually keep mine now instead of selling it. My phone has been acting up and I want to smash it with a hammer.

 

It’s pretty water resistant .. I think for a while lol

 

It would be satisfying to watch since this mf has been acting up

alright guys ... i've been using my phone for a while now and i have to say, it's the best iphone by a long shot

 

Got mine last Sunday on a whim to bestbuy they had it in stock. I must say I am pleased especially with the oled screen. I’ve read some articles about people being paranoid about the man having your face. If you think about it any DL or state ID an passport already has that information an finger prints also if you’ve ever had a back ground check for employment or military service. Eh I’m not worried about it they wanna see my boring life go right ahead.
