I have about the same lift as you and I've got Bilstein 5100's. I like them a lot.

Thank you twblanset , did you install them ? And are they coil over shocks ? I saw there adjustable , did you have make any adjustments due to the lift on your truck ? I only have a two inch lift on front for leveling so I don't think that would be an issue ! Thanks again for your advice and I'm definitely checking them out ! Roll on tacomians ! Roll on ! Lol

i installed them myself. You can remove the coil pack as a unit and take them somewhere like Les Schwab and they'll take the old ones apart and reassemble them. I have them set on the 3rd groove and I used the stock TRD coils with them.

All front shocks/coil springs on Tacomas are coilovers.

They are adjustable during assembly to pick one of 3 perch positions for the springs. The damping rate is not adjustable.

IIRC the 2nd gen 5100's have 4 different positions. The 1st gen have 3. If I'm wrong then mine are set on the 2nd position.

This will all come down to budget and your overall goal with the truck.

Budget Friendly - Bilstein 5100's all the way around

Higher priced - King, Fox and Icon all the way around

We can get you a great price on King if that is the route you are looking to go!

    Let me know!

    Thanks

I was looking at Kings and fox with the reservoirs but was thrown into sticker shock and the thought of eating ramen noodles for six months , so I think I'm just gonna save and get the king or fox down the road , I got some big airbrush jobs coming in so that should do it , what kind of price can you get on the king ?
