Nice setup. How did you decide in Billies for the front and Icons on the rear? Just curious

I was told they would match well with each other. And kind of copy catted off a friend. The other option for the rear was the fox's.

Did you grease the Ball Joints as they don't come greased, and your boots look wrinkled badly which will rip them.

They are the old man emu leafs, looked at all the different options, and decided on these for the extra "payload" as a pre built option. Also free shipping on Amazon didn't hurt.

ARB CS047R Old Man Emu/Dakar Leaf Springs, I would think these would be the heavier duty ones, not certain though. And Unchained do you mean the boots on the rear shocks? If so they are just ruffled like that on purpose. A lot of people dont run protection on the shock shaft, but I figured might as well keep the mud out.

Nope the ball joint as I just sold mine and know what they should look like full of grease.

Yep these are the heavier ones. They discontinued this set earlier this year and theyve been superseded with the light duty (EL095R) and the heavy duty (EL096R) sets of leaves. Thanks for the info, truck looks great

ok, I hear ya now. This was just a comparison picture pre installment and the ball joints had not been greased yet. They were though once installed.

rjbiii, I would have probably gone with a bit lighter duty one knowing what i know now. These do ride a bit stiff with an empty bed. pretty much overkill except for when im hauling firewood, rocks, the usual shit. Under load the truck rides like a dream. But im still not disappointed with the purchase, and the free shipping. haha

I use to drive around a 1951 Dodge 1-ton as my daily driver... I like my trucks to ride rough, then I know I'm in a truck and not a Cadillac or some such!

I only have 90k on the truck and I do daily it for now, 10mile commute though. But I do bash it in the woods and around the property trails, and use it like a truck should. If you could see all the scratches along the side you'd know. Tried to fit down one too many atv/side by side trails. haha.

    icon shocks are digressive.
Actually they will work opposite of each other. Icons are made to be smoother the faster you go.

RedDawn6. Thanks for the info. I don't doubt the company i messaged was just pushing for a sale.

So then I would ask what are the bilstien 6112s?

I don't rock crawl or anything, most of my time is higher speed trails and just bombing around farms and unserviced back roads/trails.

RedDawn6 if you're in the know, what would you recommend for my application that goes with the front?

I honestly think my leafs might be so hd that the shocks aren't getting much of a chance to actually "work" with no load.

Curious to see what people that know what they're talking about think. I don't claim to be one of those people.
