Thats where i remember you from then. Was a nice looking truck. Some people waited much longer than i did for the lights. I sold mine recently as i have put my truck back to stock to sell. @Coot83 fixed them up. One of the shrouds had fallen off and was just dangling. I loved the projectors though. One of the best functional upgrades i did.

One question for you on the lights...are they adjustable at all from the exterior? Justin was trying to adjust them, but said the stock adjustment screws might not work with the current light configuration.

Im not sure. I think they are, but im not sure i ever tried. When i got them and installed, they were pretty spot on. Driver side was just a tad higher than passenger, but cutoff was below trunk height on a regular car so i left them. I know the bowls get cut for the fxrs, but i think the alignment screws maintain functionality.

Just take a box cutter or some snips and trim it up a bit. That should be just plastic right there, or at least it is on 2nd gens.

Rock on. I see the turnoff on the way to work, but I've never been out that way.

Slowly bought radio and subwoofer (Craigslist), microphone, wiring harness (only to see the wiring harness on back of radio is EXACTLY like harness I bought), and just ordered a Metra(sp) double-din radio harness (all off Amazon). Still need to get amp, but found one in King George on CL (as soon as I find time to go get it!). :goingcrazy:

Now I have to pick a time I feel confident enough to yank old out, and wire/install new one. Anyone tackled this personally? I've seen lots of write ups on these forums, but wouldn't say no to some assistance installing. :help:

Haha. Same here. Wiring usually goes over my head. I know enough to electrocute myself though.

Took my son to his soccer practice tonight and ended up talking to the guy who owns this 3rd gen, manual trans and he was able to get a good deal on it, and it already had the cap and the running boards. I talked to him about this site and particularly this page, so hopefully we have another for our ranks!IMG_1831.jpg

Thread has been a little quiet so I'll go ahead and ask a quick question. My tires are kinda brown, almost like they're stained from mud and dirt. What's the best way to make them black again? I'm guessing some kind of tire shine thing. What's a good product or brand I should go for? Make My Tires Great Again!

I start with hot soapy water, spray on some westleys bleche white ( doesn't matter if you don't have white letters or white walls )onto the sidewall, scrub the hot soapy water all over the sidewall with your brush. Don't get the bleche white in your eyes! Rinse with lots of water. When it's dry spray your favorite tire shine on it. I wipe mine down with a rag, I don't want them too shiny, just clean and fresh

Is this the same stuff? And what's a reputable brand for tire shine? Never used it before as this is my first vehicle.

Any kind of tire shine should work. I usually go for something with a matte finish, as too much sine isnt my thing. If you like shine, black magic tire wet works well.
But like @Wild Crow said, make sure to get the dirt and brake dust off real good too. I have tried simple green, purple power, etc to clean all the crap off the rubber. As long as it gets clean, the tire dressing will look fine afterwards.

Yes. It's the same, sorta. I'm old and it used to be westleys, black magic bought it out some years ago and re formulated it, but it still cleans.
Really any brand, they're pretty much all the same chemicals. Just go to Wal-Mart and pick the one that catches your eye.

I prefer the matte finishes but they can be difficult to find without making a special trip. I'll bet 90% of tire dressings are advertised as extreme shine our extreme wet look.

The actually works until the paint cracks, the tire flexes way more than the paint
