where did everyone put their diff breathers? I've seen gas cap area and I've seen bed cubby... pros and cons to each?

 

I've got mine in the gas cap. just because I'm not gonna drive higher than my gas cap

 

the ones ive done ive put in the cubby. the higher from water the better. also not having the factory valve is way better so the diff can actually breath. an when you go into water after driving and its hot it creates a vacuum and can pull water in through the axles seals if submerged.

 

yea plus each time you fill up, you can inspect it

do you recommend using the OEM Toyota parts:

I put mine in bed cubby. Real easy to get to from underneath, even without taking the cubby off. I used the parts you posted. Take the spare out and youll have plenty of room to work.

 

spare is coming out tomorrow anyways since I have to go get my pizza cutter mounted on the spare.... might be a perfect time
