    Hey There,

Probably a noob question, but here's my scenario. My truck has a lightweight (maybe Fidanza) flywheel and URD clutch, as installed by the previous owner. Everything worked great for about 10k, but the clutch is already failing - The previous owner drove hard and fast, and I've done a little towing in the last couple years.

Long story short, I'd like to take the flywheel back to stock for ease of driving and clutch longevity. I've already ordered the URD Stage 2 kit, complete with pressure plate, but my knowledge of flywheel assemblies is limited and I'm not sure what toyota parts I need to make this work.

Do I need a "flywheel sub assembly":

Or do I just need the "drive plate and ring"?:

    https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~gear~sub~assy~drive~plate~ring~32101-60060.html

And as a final note, does anyone know where I can get what I need in good shape without having to pay stealership prices on a pretty basic part?

    Thanks!!

    Conner

Since you're already in deep and you tow, might as well get the heavier URD "Torque-u" heavy flywheel.

I've absolutely thought about this, but even with towing and occasional light offroading I want the truck to perform pretty well on the street.. But how much of a difference does the extra 9 pounds over stock really make

Life is full of compromises. If you want street performance, buy a WRX. If you tow heavy loads that extra 9 pounds of rotational inertia makes a huge difference. It's not like you're going to be doing 1/4 mile times in a Tacoma, even if it's supercharged.

I will defer to your expertise on that particular matter :hattip:

I have bikes for going fast and a truck for truck stuff.

This is a great point, but what's pretty funny is... I have an old WRX, and I like ripping around in the taco more lol. The streets in Anchorage are generally in really awful shape because everyone uses studded tires for 6 months, which causes huge ruts. Not to mention the frost heaves as you move outside of town. Anchorage is also in the upper percentile for clueless-idiots-in-large-vehicles, so I tend to feel alot safer speeding in the truck ;)

I still think I might go with the heavy flywheel though - I'll dig around and see how people like it :)
