Already put PB Blaster on in anticipation of a rewarding DIY experience when the rings (Dodge version) arrive. A few days to sink in along with a few hammer taps will fix anything. I squirt it on my phone then bang it with a hammer whenever it acts up.

BTW the key to a successful search was to check the "Titles only" box.

    Just kidding about the phone.

OP, a couple of pics for reference. The bolts you are talking about are long, but not sure how many threads will be left if you include a D-ring. The D-ring package has the part# if you need it.

Waitaminute. The OEM D-ring mounting holes fit on the bed bolts? The bolts look like different diameters on my truck. Or is that a different part designed for this? What is that thing that looks like white nylon or plastic?

Not sure what you mean. The D-ring in the pic above is upside down...I removed it from the corner of the bed. The aluminium retainer rings you see are used to fill in the gap between the bed and top of the bolt. I needed to remove them to install the bed stiffeners and still use the D-rings. I have a DCSB, so I'm not sure if there are differences to your Access cab.

Grab the box and lift up with your hands . It doesnt take much to get a clunk . You will feel the movement in the box when you are lifting .
There are a lot of 3rd gen members reading this post . I suggest fixing the problem before it becomes a problem

I was basically asking if the D-rings fit on the bed bolts (the unpainted bolt you also have out). I was looking for D-rings that would fit them without drilling the hole out, thought that's what you were saying.

    Does anyone know?

I love how when I was installing my bed stiffeners I used my hilift to keep the bed mat out of the way as well lmao

Some of us have used the Dodge Sprinter Cargo Van D-Rings for the Tacoma bed bolts:
    https://www.moparpartsoverstock.com/p/__/RING-RING-RETAINER/6651505/05104500AA.html

I have 4 of them on my 2nd generation Tacoma. Once you tighten down the bolts to 55 ft/lbs, the rings will not rotate unless you figure out how to put a spacer between the bolt head and the washer that takes the pressure off of the D-ring body. This spacer would need to be either galvanized steel or stainless steel. I used a big file to remove the retaining nub on the bolt so I could get the washer off. A Dremel or grinding wheel would be easier.

So, back to the original question. Does anyone know the diameter of the T55 Torx bolts/screws, or a D-ring that has mounting holes that they would fit through? I'd prefer not to buy something then damage the coating by drilling it out (exposes bare metal that would rust).
