See if we can get 1 last bash together. Like to get the ones that didnt get to go on the last trip. Trying to figure out dates. If you guys can tag who you think might be in on this please do. Dates have been set for November 18th-19th. Don't have to do both days.
    Flexible on my end.
Once we get the day or days let's get group leaders and gunners set.
Then set up groups. So when we get registered we can get in our groups, have meeting setup trucks in running order and cb channel.
Camping and food will be up to each individual.
I will be bring sodas, water and ice. And for camping guys some wood.

Myself @Roody Are trying to get this thing off the ground.
@Roody is going to open this up to the T4R as well. Trying to get a big showing. But like earlier we will hope to have the following setup before the event:
    Leaders
    Gunners
Groups. (Lite greens, greens into lite blues, blues maybe a black, black and red)
    Cb channels
Where to meet and times for each group

Just got this from AOAA don't know what the cost is for a day pass or a 2 day bought the same day. So DON'T know if this is a good deal. Let me know. And I'll get back with her.
Also going to contact the campground and see if there is a discounted rate.

    Good morning!
We at the AOAA will give you a discounted rate for two day passes. A one day pass is $25, two days is $35. You must tell the staff at registration that you want a 2 day pass when you pay for the first day.
We do not own or operate the campground. Please refer to www.trailheadcampground.com for this information.
    Thank you,
    Amanda, AOAA CSS

    From the camp site:

Let me know how many sites you are talking about getting. Also the dates.
Once you have a number, we can look at renting the sites at either a discount code, or a flat fee. Depends on how much work you want to do vs what you want us to do.
If you are mainly looking at just a get-together, then the discount code may be your best choice. If you are going to have an event, then the flat fee would be the way to go.
The sooner the better. I have been flooded with questions on events here for the fall.
If we sell out, on the date you need, we can set you up in the future campground areas that are not open yet. We use these areas for a few other events we have.
Either way we are willing to work with you to help make your event a smooth as possible.

    Latestrevised list:

My suggestion for everyone/ every group:

    Office opens at 9 AM.

We should be at the parking lot, aired down and ready to roll BEFORE 9AM.

I'm guessing it might take upwards of 1/2 hour to get our passes at the office.

Roll out at 9:30 should be our target.

I think I saw in an earlier post that @Braves95wanted to stagger the roll out into the trails.

If Team Nightmare rolls out first, we should be out of the Green/Blue team's way.

If we roll out late, then we'll likely bebottlenecked by the slow-ass Dream Team:boink:

Anybody wanting to do blacks be warned. This from @stairgod
It needs to be said that for any black trail there are certain required items. 33s and at least one locker, front and rear recovery points and a winch are the usual minimum requirements. And the Pit trail, although a blue, requires recovery points and a winch. And if you were on that trail in the wet, you would know that it is no joke.

Here's the link to the waiver please fill out prior to going to event. Will make process faster.
    Thanks @crazychris4124 for the link.

We're just over a week away so it's time to start discussing...

PLANS FOR NEXT WEEKEND (yes that's my yelling voice) --- timing, meetups, etc.

    SATURDAY
Trails open at 9. Groups should try to be on the trail by 10 if you want a full day. So I'd say meet in the lot 8-930, check in / register, air down, get your groups together, set CBs, and be on dirt by 10 latest. We'll try to stagger departures so that groups aren't up each other's asses.

I highly recommend getting the phone #s of everyone in your pre-determined group well in advance of next Saturday just in case someone is running late or in the event of other issues.

THE WEST PRESERVE CLOSES AT 2 PM, YOU HAVE TO BE BACK ON THE EAST SIDE BY THEN...plan accordingly, as some of the spots at the western-most end do take a fair amount of time to get back east from

ALL TRAILS CLOSE AT 5 ON SATURDAY, YOU HAVE TO BE BACK IN THE LOT BY THEN

We will meet in the lot around 5pm for a full TacomaWorld meetup. Put names to faces, take a group photo, etc. There will be a meal and inevitable shit talking. Refer to earlier posts to see what everyone is bringing for the "feast" but if everyone pitches in we should have a good turnout for everyone to enjoy.

After that everyone can go to their campsite, hotel, house, or wherever it is they may be sleeping. I believe it is @Redmann who is organizing the house which is down the street from AOAA, supposedly it sleeps 16 so we have plenty of room if anyone else wants in.

    SUNDAY
Trails are open the same time, 9-5. Same meetup times, 8-930, try to be on the trails by 10 latest. I'm guessing everyone will have different departure times so convoys can leave whenever, people go on their merry ways. We may need to re-organize groups for Sunday being that some people are only wheeling Saturday, and also since some people will leave earlier than others on Sunday, so we'll figure this all out Saturday at the end of the day or early Sunday upon arrival.

After that...roll out. And start planning the next trip

Sunday night someone should start an AOAA Last Bash picture thread for everyone to dump photos/videos into, would be much easier than putting them all in this thread

    OTHER ITEMS OF NOTE

-It's late enough in the year to be cold and rainy/snowy (maybe even overnight dusting/frost) next weekend. If so this will make the wheeling drastically tougher and will mean both more time spent out of the vehicle and more time cold/wet. Dress accordingly.

-There will inevitably be some people who decide to come last minute (and some who can't make it last minute) who will need groups. If everyone meets up around the same time in the AM it should be easy to figure out who of the stragglers can run with which group or if they can form their own. But the sooner everyone posts when they'll be there and what difficulty trails they want to run, the sooner we can form groups.

-Daylight savings time is upon us and it gets dark in the woods early. Very early if you're behind a mountain. Bring a flashlight and check your headlights. Wheeling in the dark without functional lights sucks. Ask me how I know LOL

-Once your group is formed make sure that at least one person has some decent recovery gear, i.e. straps, a hi-lift, etc.

-Many of the mud pits are deeper than they look...and they do look deep. There's a tale going around of way back before the land was used as an off-road park, it was a just state land, much of which was an unofficial dump (much of which has been cleaned up). Locals would wheel the land and with wheeling comes showing off in the mud pits. Some of them are so deep that another local would sit by the deepest pits with his Unimog, knowing that people would get stuck, and when they couldn't free themselves from the muck he would offer a tow for the nice price of $100. This is no joke; you can easily ruin your day diving into the bad ones. The last thing I want to see is somebody submerge their truck in one of the bottomless pits, but if you're going to try one, at least do us all the favor of getting it on video :bananadance:

-Completing the AOAA waiver online will only speed up how quick you get through check-in, paying, etc. when you get there. You can do so on the AOAA website here:
    http://www.aoaatrails.com/plan-your-visit/check-in-checklist

-Bring extra gas if you think you'll need it. Not a ton of miles will be covered but it is low speeds, frequently in 4WD / 4WD Low, so gas mileage will be shitty.

I'm really looking forward to next weekend. It's a long week away but it should be a damn good time and hopefully everyone is as stoked as I am.

If I missed anything feel free to chime in @Braves95

That'll be awesome. Just trying to get some dates thrown around and see if we can get it to stick. Maybe multiple dates and or weekends.

I'd like to. Just not sure if the dates are going to work out for me. Have some family events going on almost every other weekend.... So for me, might be a last minute yes or no. Sorry, that's the best I can do now.

Currently stuck in the 'last-minute' cycle. I think many people will be involved with Halloween stuff the 28th, and 29th, so you may want to avoid that weekend. I suggest earlier for leaves?

We might drive up Saturday morning if nothing is happening at work, probably won't be camping though.

Edit: I'm sure my dad would love to get out wheeling. My girl doesn't like waking up early.

I'd be interested in going the weekend after that. I'm local-ish to AOAA, so I can go about any weekend that I'm not working or entertaining the wife.

I don't want to start with negativity, so I'll say @Braves95 - noble idea! That weekend, and next 2 will most probably be out of the question for me:pout:. The idea someone have thrown, about around Thanksgiving time might work a bit better, but I'll still have to play by ear...
So make your plans, and I'll do my best.

Btw, my wife have seen videos of you scuba diving, she wants to come next time and film me doing it, lol
