    Guys,
I just installed the V5 harness from my RS3200 factory alarm (adding glass break sensor, etc...). The install instructions say I have to take it to the dealer to have them turn it on with their techstream. Could I purchase one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/263104456482?fromMakeTrack=true and use it to turn the alarm on?
Local dealer wants $130 (hour of labor) to turn it on. It's not that I'm cheap, but... If I can do it myself, for less, and have the tool for next time.
    Thanks, Scheu

    its the pirated TIS
    this is a pirated one.
I'd be cautious about using it. Since I have heard stories of it bricking someones ECU.
And it triggers the anti virus for some as well. supposedly a trojan

the real techstream software is by subscription. and uses a mongoose cable.
Cable isn't cheap but you can get two day subscriptions for the software for around $15 i believe.

to be fair, a worse buy would be to buy the thing before asking anyone about and then being afraid to use it after hearing of the risk... which is my story lol. :anonymous:

    lmao

I'm trying to find the cable for a decent price then just going to pay per use if I ever need it. And that will likely come when I actually need it for something. No need to buy it right now.

I’d go get it flashed at the dealer. Then if you wanna do customizations you use carista.

ya I'm more so thinking for later out of warranty for diagnostics that a standard OBD might not be able to do.
