Alright, guys. I got a little ahead of myself when picking out a sub for my truck. I saw some prefabbed 10" boxes, so I ordered an Alpine Type R 10. I overlooked the part where they said they fit 'most' 10" subs, and the Type R runs pretty large for a 10. So, it won't fit the boxes I was planning on going with.

I know a shop that can make me an enclosure, but now I'm wondering if it's even possible to fit this thing behind the seats. Is anyone running a Type R 10 in their 3rd Gen, or a sub with similar depth? Any other areas this might fit or am I SOL?

Can you exchange it for Alpine SWR-T10 shallow mount. The type R are way to deep to fix behind back seat.

Already tried to exchange/return but it was a no-go. If I cant get it to fit, I had my eyes on a JL shallow mount 10.

At least all hope isnt lost on the Type R. My civic has needed a new sub for a while, so Ill just stick it in there.

    Thanks for the replies.

I have the JL TW3 10. The shallow mount in the stock box. In my 16 ORDC fits behind rear passenger seat. Sounds good. If you're looking for mind numbing bass, won't make u happy. If nice full sound quality is what u want, you should be happy

The JL TW310 is what I was looking at. My buddy has one so Ive been able to hear it. Not quite the amount of bass I’d like but my options seem pretty limited with this truck.

I'm in the market for a double cab Tacoma. I currently have two Pioneer shallow mount 10"s and a 5 channel bAMF amp in the garage. I'd love to get it into the Tacoma that I end up buying. I'm hopeful there is a path to do this.
