I have a handle keeper, but that bungee cord idea is a good one. I will have to try that next time. All I know is that if it keeps up, there will be a hi-lift on the side of the road one day.

Cant/wont do stereo/speaker upgrade. I am a recovering addict. Theres no stopping me once I start that shit. I already promised myself that I'm not touching the stereo in the Taco. That's what my Civic is for. LOL.

But it sounds so good with just a head unit.

See, heres the problem. First, Ill be looking at Alpine head units, then JL subs and amps. And then since I'm going with JL subs, I might as well get JL separates and coax's for the rear. Then I gotta get and run a ton of monster cable because I don't half ass anything, then I will be happy with that until I decide there has to be a way to shove a W7 in the back.....maybe I can just get rid of one seat for the W7....but maybe I can squeeze 2 W7's back there...then I wont have room for my dog, but I do it anyway because subwoofer. Then I have to get an alarm on it, but I also have to listen to my gf tell me to turn the subs off because she cant think with the boom...ooooooorrrrr, I can just leave it stock. LOL. That's all money I can use for I don't know....bumpers, ham radio, inReach, super bad ass light bars, I dunno. I have already thought about it though. hahaha.

FWIW, i found that the Hi-Lift brand handle keeper is junk. I've ripped through a couple and have a few friends that have as well. The daystar one fits more snug and helps with the rattles. I also use one of these to cinch down the handle and no more rattles:

The base is what makes the most noise. Mine now rests on the wheel well but before that I ran a bungee from the base up to the top to keep it tight.

Best solution to the base rattle is pull it off, then get one of our Bigfoot HiLift bases and store it behind the back seat or in your trail tool box ;)
