I took this rig home with me in 2005 with 6k on it in norcal. Someone swapped it for a tundra, or so they said. Wheeled it stock for a long time except for a shell I put on it. About 4 years ago I put some method nv's on it and some bfg Ko 275/65r16. By that time the suspension was starting to be completely shot and could barely go offroad without bottoming out. Right when I was gonna throw money at it, I spent most of what I saved on a jetski for surfing, then put it off for another year. So tWo years after the jetski purchase, I ended up finding TW, and just lurked looking for info. So glad I finally joined cause Ive met some of cool fn peeps and learned a lot. The rest is history, I have started the mods and my list keeps growing. This is how my rig sits today.

Thx man, I wanted to do this to my truck for a long time, my skydiving habit and desire to travel for surf cut my truck budget for a long time. Stoked its where its at now.

So in the begining of my build, it started with the wheels, then I kept seeing a ton of yellow powder underneath my seat. I wondered wtf is that? I then looked under the seat and looked at the foam. It seemed to crumble just from me looking at it lol. Not good...that and my back started to hurt from my seats. Even the passenger side was shot. They were old...So I upgraded and these showed up..IMG_4457.jpg IMG_4459.jpg

My suspension showed up at the same time so...IMG_4524.jpgIMG_4525.jpg IMG_4522.jpg

Notice it was wet from rain, put the suspension on serendipitously in time to find snow in san diego. So we went for a romp in the snowIMG_4548.jpg

Love gassing it in the snow...even the wife had some fun doing doughnuts in the snow...how can you not! Suspension was like night n day.

Then my pallet from Allpro showed up.

    IMG_4566.jpg

I really wanted a swing out but settled for the allpro high clearance, till I realized my need for a hitch canceled out my high clearance, I need to use the jetski as I need to surf off it, non negotiable. So...the argument in my head began...in the meantime I began painting my sliders. And installed the front bumper and winchIMG_4593.jpg

paint n install skids and more coats on the sliders

Just clear coat to prevent rust
    IMG_4572.jpg

    sanded then primer
    IMG_4573.jpg
    IMG_4570.jpg

And somehow I dont have a finished pic of the sliders...

Made up my mind with the bumper situation and sold this for $100 more than I payed for itIMG_4622.jpg

I then went to have my sliders welded on and ordered a new grill for $70 off Amazon.

    IMG_4628.jpg IMG_4633.jpg

All black looks way nicer! Still waiting on new winch line at that point. And decided to go with spending an exorbitant amount of money on my rear bumper set up. And also happened on a group buy for a compressor...who likie on board air :kona::bananadance:

Followed a build thread on using a cruise control bracket by @tomtom and made it happen.
    IMG_4691.jpg IMG_4689.jpg IMG_4710.jpg

It bolts right into the factory pre threaded holes, 04 has that empty slot waiting for an air compressor...took this apart
    IMG_4708.jpg

Sliced a wire or two andIMG_4712.jpg
We got bush! I mean on board air...which is nice...then this showed up
    IMG_4636.jpg

So I got rid of this shit
    IMG_4635.jpg

And finished the instal minus the gas can holderIMG_4639.jpg IMG_4658.jpg

From the looks of this my time frame is off, and intead of editing, its obvious this went on before the sliders were welded

With the control box relocated I preloaded the winch and was ret to get in the dirt, but not before I sold theseIMG_4725.jpg

And bought these...285/75 good year MTR

    IMG_4729.jpg

You may notice somethings not right about the tread pattern

:gossip:the tire reads inboard only on the outboard side of the tire:facepalm:

I took them back after i got em dirty n had them put on the right way...the shop owner looked super pissed when I told him. Sure someone got yelled at. IMG_4741.jpg

After driving around on stock gears I realized something needed to change with my gears...i decided on the nitro 4.56 and figured if Im gonna open em up...lets throw a front locker in there...called up ward and got a front harrop eaton electromagnetic locker, called up @ECGS and they said they could instal it for me for a more than reasonable fee, I said yes and gave them my cc info. These guys are top notch and I highly recommend them! Ward @Cruiser Brothers is awesome too! Definitely good peeps with amazing customer service! So I waited n these showed up
    IMG_4836.jpg

Super fn stoked! After being scared on an uneven driveway and being too much of a vagine...i was recommended to speak with justin at progears in san diego. Dude was super cool and since I had the gear oil n everything he swapped em in for $300...yotamasters in corona wanted over $500...then there was much rejoicing and after breaking em in, went wheelinIMG_4985.jpgIMG_5023.jpg DSC_1957.jpgDSC_1972.jpg DSC_1946.jpgDSC_2010.jpg DSC_2024.jpg

This whole time I had my eyes on a cvt tent but my shell was only a year younger than my truck and would not support a rtt...i didnt really wanna spend the money on it at the time so I was gonna put it off then TW strikes again...Group buy! Shit I just bought a tent :annoyed:wait I just bought a tent:bananadance:

Since I definitely couldnt afford a new shell and rack...I was thinking bed bars n started reading a lot of threads n other peoples builds...after fear of rolling and many questions later I asked @Blackdawg how he liked his bed bars n who made em. I was debating having a local shop do em, if I waited a month I coulda made em myself with @YotaGurlIAm at @YumaTRD place...oh well, glad I copied Monte's rig because those bed bars are sweet, a little bulky but legit. I wanted to go low profile and keep the weight from being too high up on the rig. Sorry for being a copy cat man...n then these showed upIMG_5223.jpg
:bananadance: Lets go camping bitches! But it had to wait as I was moving and money was rapidly dwindling...about a month later got invited to Joshua Tree to check out the meteor shower and said I need to get the tent on, its too fn hot to sleep in the shell... @eccracer104 showed up n helped me take the shell off and install the bed bars n tent... IMG_5298.jpg IMG_5318.jpg IMG_5303.jpg

    And were camping!IMG_5362.jpgIMG_5327.jpg

Cant wait to really put it to use camping on the trail for multiple days

After a few night trips I realized I needed some additional lights, and eventually maybe new headlights...projectors possibly...
    :boom:

So I found a sweetdeal again on Amazon and ordered these...
    image.jpg

    And these...

    IMG_5428.jpg

    Unfortunately I got dd's instead of DP...

Cbi quickly resolved the issue after many a joke, and a fender pulled back
    IMG_5440.jpg

    bang...ditch lights.

    IMG_5453.jpg

Love em, and super simple to instal. I had been rubbing on my windshield washer reservoir and had enough. Bought an 89-95 yota windshield washer ressy and swapped....used a whole saw to cut out a spot for my sensor and put it in...gotta work on the mount but it held with no issues the next day on a pretty rough trail called bronco peak which I actually used my reservoir to clean my windows so I could see mo betta...
    IMG_5484.jpg IMG_5488.jpg
Later I found my sensor doesnt work lol, oh well everything else does n maybe I buy a new sensor, maybe...
    IMG_5496.jpg IMG_5499.jpg

Not my truck but was a sweet v notch we slid through... @desertjunkie760 showing me the way. And cause I got to winch him off this little pepple you see me on below
    IMG_5518.jpgIMG_5521.jpg

All the armor was put to the test, and took the beating saving me from serious body damage, all my armor was schratched(ie what theyre meant for). The trail just ate up one of my method's center caps...good thing I had a spareIMG_5505.jpg

And I'm caught up...there was lots of wheeling inbetween all these ad ons, but will start posting em as I go now that this is started. I also have some TC gussets to weld and 700#coils to swap with the 650's my front end is just too heavy for them. Am also needing to aal to my dakar ome's cause my ass is too fat too hahah especially with a couple jerry cans n camping gear.

Sweet build, have me eyeing that rear bumper now. Im about to swap on some coilovers, you weren't happy with 650 so you're moving up to 700?

Also you use the jet ski for tow ins or accessing remote spots?

Remote spots, its illegal in san diego to drive any motorized boat in the surf zone except a few spots, did some tow ins with it in mex last winter, but bringing the ski across the border is a bitch, cant use the century lane with the jetski, gonna try launching right by the border this winter for some whip ins. Nothing crazy big but being pulled into 10 ft barrels at 40 mph is awesome

Love my bumper, it has saved me from rocks a few times now

The 700 will be more better, my coils are bound down way low to get the ride height I want, my truck put on some serious weight wish I just went 700 from the get go

Sweet! My buddy lives in sunset cliffs and tells me about a couple of those spots, pretty sweet. Yeah I didn't think id get a swing out but that bumper looks great.

I don't have any skid plates but I do have an arb bumper and winch, I already have the 650 coils so we'll see how it goes and hopefully I can get away with it. Otherwise ill bump it up.

Tow ins seem insane Im sure I would eat shit but it seems crazy fun
