    Greetings,

I'm fairly new to modding/wiring. So hoping to absorb some knowledge here.

I recently purchased a Leer shell for my truck with the dome light option. The installer mentioned they had wired the lights into my license plate lights, thus my dome light only becomes functional when my headlights are on. I noticed the other day that the installer disabled my stock bed light (probably because its blocked by the cab now), and upon noticing this it clicked. It would be waaay more functional to just have the dome light in the shell somehow wired to the bed light switch. Thus I could turn it on/and off with out needing the headlights, plus have that third option for it to light up when parked and turn off by itself.

Anyone happen have theirs setup like this? Or perhaps be able to provide insight into how I might be able to do hook it up myself?

Here is the switch I'm talking about of course.

    Cheers!

this is a good idea. Not sure - you would have to run a new wire from the switch, under the truck and then through the bed and tie into the wiring harness for the light. My ARE is on a separate switch that i turn off and on independent of truck lights. Kiind of strange the way they wired it...

Why in the hell would they wire it that way?
While you are making the wiring right. Maybe consider adding some led lights in the bed of the truck that also turn on with the switch.
