A quick question... and I am not mechanically minded.

I am planning to buy used winter tires and rims off kijiji. Besides the obvious 6 bolt pattern, and simply limiting the search to Toyota Tacoma winter tires and rims, how can I be sure the 6 bolt pattern will match up to the wheel studs on my truck?

So someone might write about their sale online, "Came off my 2010...". Will this fit on a 2016? It isn't like I'll be trying them on before I leave with them.

Thanks... and if anyone has winter tires and rims for sale be sure to message me. It is for a 2016 in southwestern Ontario.

    Drew

I'm pretty sure, 90% sure, the 6 bolt pattern is the same from the second gen to third gen

Best bet is to unbolt a FRONT wheel and see if it fits. Make sure the bolt pattern works and the rim clears the caliper.

Might be easier to plug the tire size into kijiji and get a set of steel wheels from Canadian Tire, Walmart, etc.

1st, 2nd and 3rd gen bolt patterns are the same. I've seen 3rd gen sport wheels on 2nd gen and I have my 3rd gen OR wheels on my 1st gen. Need to use the correct lugs depending on wheels though, you can't use steel lugs on alloy wheels.

All Toyota 6 bolt wheels will fit all Toyota 6 bolt trucks. The problem comes when people say the other manufactures 6 bolts will fit our trucks. Chevy, yes, but be careful on backspacing and wheel diameter.

Any tire store should sell steel spares. Get those, and mount the used tire on them.

Hope you got your tires, but if not, try not to buy "used".... they are only really good when new...and drop in their efficiency at a rate of about 20% per year.... Depending, of course, on what they are driven on all winter.....!!

    New tires stop way better...!!
