Anyone got a spare AAL or leaf pack they're lookin to sell? How about some front springs? I've got my hands on all the shocks for a lift but I need the rest. I'll get new top hats for sure from Wheelers.

Is that a set of Dakars I see?? What are the details there?

 

There's a set of stock 3 leafs, a set of custom Chevy leaf added bastards, and that set of dakars. The bastards and Dakars have a slight bend in the top leaf(with eyelets) but the rest of the leafs are fine. Obviously the dakars will be more expensive but cheaper than new.

 

Where did the slight bend come from? Think it'll affect performance that much? How many miles on the Dakars? I refuse to put anything chevy or stock on my truck. Those are my rules.

 

LOL any leafs are better than Toyota spring steal, even chevy. FYI, there are lots of chevy, or at least chevy uses them too, parts on our trucks, mostly wire connectors.

I bent them offroading. My bumpstop standoffs were too tall and it allowed the axle to wrap until the shock topped out. I don't know how it will change their ride but you're welcome to find out. You could swap out the top leaf for a stock top leaf and it shouldn't really change the spring rate.

 

I just got brand new leafs via the recall so that may work out for me. Just to clarify, these are 2.5" lift right? I don't know if there's even any other height for Dakars but I figured I'd ask.

The Chevy leaf mod is a great DIY project for better leaf springs. I had a Chevy AAL on my 1st Gen and it was great.

Kilt it good lol. I've had that stuff for probably close to a year... Sometimes it takes me a while to get around to doing a project..

 

Does anyone know the dimensions of the U-bolts for the rear leaf springs or know where I can find that info?

You got new leafs? The ubolts will depend marginally on the pack you got, more leaves/thicker leaves.
