I have been to most of the "normal"and "popular" spots around Junction for mountain biking and just general camping and 4 wheeling. The desert is becoming absolutely crazy lately and finding a site harder and harder to do. I have a weekend to go camping with the family the weekend before Halloween. I will be leaving on a Saturday morning arriving around mid day on Saturday and don't want to drive everywhere looking for a site. I am not asking for your secret spot "unless you want to pm me it", but any CO locals have any recommendations of an area that might not be absolutely crazy. i was thinking book cliff area but not 18 road in fruita might have some potential. maybe something off of 50 but not he gateway road either. Any insight would be appreciated.

Please PM me if you don't want your spot listed in the interweb. i'm really good at keeping secrets. THANKS!

yep i know that's why i asked for PM. honestly i'm getting to the point especially with kids its just easier to go to grandmas. kids dont make camping hard but not finding a site and driving in circles does make it hard with them in the back seat.

One day i will just have property and a permanent camp site but till then anybody want to PM me please.

If not no big deal i will go back and keep looking on my paper maps. worked so far.

Only place I've ever camped in out there was deep into Bangs Canyon and never saw anyone else. The time of year likely had something to do with it, as it was freakin' cold still at night. It was dispersed camping.
