I had the same truck, green '71 Hilux. It had an 18RC engine and pinged like crazy unless I used 91 octane, leaded gas, which was still available in the East Bay area in the mid 80's. I loved the truck. It was easy to work on and i've had Toyota trucks ever since.

I had a 64 Dodge truck, 6 cyl and a pushbutton automatic. I had it a long time.

Prob actually has 48k on the odo. For it to be that clean and you wouldn't necessarily drive it across the country. Also commutes used to be shorter back in the day.
