12" sub in 2017 DCSB

When I built the box for my truck I made the back wall first and put it in place. Then I latched one side of the seat back and measured the space I had available at the top and bottom. Make sure you account for the thickness of the sub surround and leave enough space so the seat won't hit it when folding up and down. I had to router mine out a bit and countersink. Luckily I had enough room to make it work.


I never worked off of any "plans", I just built it piece by piece.

Material is 3/4" Birch plywood

 

I wish I could go full height box like you did, but the '17's have the rear window motor there so limits a lot of what I could do. I'm already on box #2 so i'm now toying the idea of doing a 3rd box with 4 8's and fiberglassing the whole thing

For $100 you're buying the R&D and perfect measurements. Doubt anybody with exact dimensions is going to share all that work.

 

I agree. I know marv on here used to sell his plans, but others were abusing it so he quit. It would be nice if you could purchase a plan with build dimensions, but it was more fun/challenging taking out the seats and doing it myself. Besides I was low on my cuss word count for the month so building my box helped there

Aluminum foil, tape and fiberglass mat plus resin make the measuring for space easy.
