Also, for those that have amber fogs and a white bar in the middle... how do those two mix if you have them both on?

I plan on getting a Pelfyerbilt Single Hoop bumper (and full skid plates) as soon as i can afford them. Im pretty sure im going steel for everything. Although, If someone could convince me to go aluminum...

Ah, the pre-facelift hoops through my off. Looks beast.

I'm also open to hearing arguments.. I want to stay away from having to swap my 887 coils for 886's, which is my primary excuse. Things like my sliders have rusted quick too, so that's another reason for aluminum for me.

Ive read alot and understand the difference between the two. I think i just need to find someone with a beat up Al bumper and look for myself how dinged up and dented it is. I ran aluminum skid plates on my dirtbike for years (I know, not a 4,000lb truck), those things took a BEATING. If were talking a couple hundred pound difference in steel vs aluminum kits, on a truck where my sliders/skid plates are meant as a precaution...

add* I was considering steel bumpers with an aluminum skid plate system

I would recommend a steel IFS skid because it will take more abuse than anything else. The rest of it you can go aluminum if you wish

Single Hoop all the way, I have got the Pelfyerbilt Aluminum which is awesome. Running on 887's and the the weight between the front and rear(steel) is noticeable. The install was much easier on the front because of the weight as well.

Nice! Looks really good. Is the light output between the bar and fogs pretty good?

I went aluminum with no hoops. Love it. Can always add the hoops later on if you choose.

I went Aluminum no hoop bumper. I kind of wish I had a single hoop to use as an attachment point for a hammock though. One thing to consider is the hoops on the aluminum bumper are a smaller diameter than the steel so they look slightly different. And if you want to add hoops to the aluminum later on it can be more difficult to find someone that can weld them up.

Thanks! If I remember correctly they changed the design of the hoops at some point since they came out, so there could be differences depending on the year the bumper was made. Their website has all up to date pictures now.
