It's not a reflector, it's a third brake light. I would check into the reason for its lack of functionality.

I have 2013 Tacoma double cab and would like to install the switch I purchased that will make the 3rd brake light flash at different rates that I can select. No problem with the installation I just have to get the light off the body. Is this held with only an adhesive with no other fastners where the headliner has to be removed? My dealer has had no experience with this and can't help. Since the vehicle is new and a replacement light is $140 I don't want to damage the light or the body.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Would this procedure be the same for a 2000 Pre-Runner? Want to make sure before I start trying to pry the light housing off.

You have to take the headliner loose because there are two bolts behind it that are also holding it in

No, there are no bolts on that light going through the cab to the inside, and the headliner does not have to come off at all. My post is old, and I took care of this long ago. Two screws goes from the outside through the lens and reflector, and threads into something behind the reflector on the outside of the truck. The hardest part is making the little seal stay put while putting the lens back on.

Only the maglight mod, mounted on floor drivers side, billet antenna and have lined all storage under rear seats with rubber to keep the rattling to a minimum.
How do you keep the LED 3rd brake light from sending an error? Had one installed before and it caused my shift lock to engage. I've heard that there's something to install in line with the wiring to trick the computer
