Might not be too bad on a Lexus. That being said unless your wife likes the sound of off road tires she wont like them. I don't find them too loud but I imagine they will progressively get louder and I only have 6k mi on them.

If you are in a Lexus and comfort is a concern, to include noise, I would advise looking at something like a Cooper Discoverer AT3. They have a more SUV type looking tread pattern to them, are quiet, ride well, but are surprisingly solid off road for an AT tire. Don't be fooled by the looks of them online as they are more aggressive in person, work well in all seasons, and clean out really well, much better than you'd think from their outward appearance. I had them on my second gen and they did really well for an AT tire.

I was planning of putting a set of AT3s on it initially, though @ $40/tire for the Authority, I jumped on it. The Boss won't be happy, but I may just do two sets and keep the Authorities for trail use. :D

    Thanks for the responses guys!

Or you could sell them for a nice profit. Peeps on here will buy them in a second. You were lucky to find some at that price. I love the tires, they are amazing off road and not bad on road IMO. I'm on 16's or I'd take them off your hands.

They are certainly not quiet. Quite honestly she'll probably notice and be annoyed by it. Most of is probably don't care much, but I'd it's the kid hauler for her she probably won't care for the noise.

I never even notice the road noise unless I'm going 55+

They're really not bad under 55 or so...mine were balanced twice and I get some vibes at 50-55. For the price of $196 for install (bought two sets sold one for total cost.) they're not bad. If I paid $850 or so I wouldn't be terribly happy.

So I found a set but am now trying to figure out how to get Walmart to price match. Mine are showing 160 a tire. I knew I could find he clearance price in bricksee but cannot locate the sku on the tire. I have them in my cart but cannot find that anywhere. Anyone know the sku for the 265/75/16 c? Or, is there a link to the ones with $45 prices?

I got the 265/75/16 for 80 (around there) per tire. I used the UPC 001008458. These are loud compared to my old MS2, but for the price I can deal with it.

I bought mine in store. They rang up as normal price, something like $177 ea. The manager had to do a price adjustment for the $45 price.

3 of mine were mislabeled from Goodyear as an E load Duratrac @ $200+, so if you are looking for a set in store, you might have them check the Duratracs for incorrectly labeled tires.

Maybe I got lucky with mine. They get loud past 55mph but I don't have any vibration at all until like 80+

Has anyone had any luck ordering these and having the price adjusted?

I could only find two at the close out pricing. I found two more for $150 each but they are three hours away. I think the duratrac is probably the closest to these but does anyone have any other recommendations. I was thinking two of these on one end of the truck and two of something else on the other end. LT265/70r17c. Truck I’m putting them on is a 4x4.

If you are set on the Authority, buy the two at closeout and drive to get the others. You will have $500 (gas included) in a set of good quality tires.

Of you could buy the two and sell them on CL. I made $400 on the set I purchased and sold.

I did get the two on close out.

Are these discontinued for good? Finally came across another 265/75/16 load C option only to find out I'm too late? Is there a replacement for these?

It's unlikely that they will be back. Someone from Walmart told me they were being replaced by something from either Goodyear or bfgoodrich. I can't remember exactly what it was but it wasn't nearly as aggressive looking. The Goodyear duratrac is the comparable tire now.

Sad to hear this tires are gone, i have a set for 10k miles and they still show no wear. I have air them down about 5 times for trails and mud pits. They have been great, an inexpensive tire and good looking.
