Not that I can remember. There was a good amount of deep mud from a recent storm but you could have just parked further away from the beach and walked it.

I have a short write up from my last trip in my build thread HERE. Although I just realized that I never got around to finishing it. LOL! :anonymous: But my buddy has an even better write up HERE.

That trip was mainly to conquer the baja peninsula and make it all the way to cabo as well as have some fun in the pits for the 1000. Next trip will be all surfing :)

I would be down to plan a trip, trying to take my new to me taco down there too. Im 2wd equipped with a winch.

Pretty experienced with offroad driving but I'm 2wd, have tow straps and spare parts. Maintenance/prep is kept up with. New to going down to baja though. If we plan a trip to go down with a group I would be down, but weekends only for me.

Just added a board to the quiver. I just got spontaneously married a week ago, and my wife had this custom made for me as an engagement present (unknowingly) and tricked me into showing up at the shapers house to pick it up. It's so beautiful it's almost a shame to surf it. It's safe to say I made the right decision with her.

Roger hinds shaped and glassed it. Highly recommend him. Great guy, very good at scheduling, and makes every board like it is his last. I'm so stoked for the north swells to roll in now!

Surfboard Broker is pretty clutch. New/used boards with good pricing and decent shipping cost if needed. Located in Carlsbad.

My buddy is a shaper in Hawaii. But has a ghostshaper out of Costa Mesa’s pureglass. I get all my boards through him. Www.raynorsurf.com check him out. Great boards.
I don’t really need a new board. Just really want one. But wife will make me sell one. And unlike all the ones I have currently. Well see

Buy my aipa stinger haha its a 6'2 and Ive used it like 3 times too much volume. But if you're going custom check out thread designs. Just got a custom from him and its awesome, very reasonable priced too

Seen a lot of threads pop up in South Bay last couple years. Like my Raynor boards though!

Here is an update! they turned out decent. some good, some bad (REALLY BAD). but it was a learning process. here are some final pics of the first 5. These have been done for a couple months now, and ive started a batch of 10 more. Hoping to get good enough to try my hand at a full size board.

Hope everyone has been getting a piece of these last swells

Nice hand planes salladh. How did you attach the braided handles? Looks like just a raised fold of glass...

I took some fiberglass cloth apart to get all the little strands, then dunked them in laminating resin and layed them on the boards over a chop stick, then when the resin kicked I slid the chopstick out. And after what felt like 5000 hours of sanding ended up with what you see there

Haha, yeah the sanding part is a pita if the glass/resin isn't a clean job. Nice work though. They look great.

    How do they surf?

They surf really well! They are really small and thin so you can swim with it on your hand easily, but still gives enough lift. Some stuff im changing for the next batch though.
