I finally got to shoot suppressed a couple weeks ago and it is simply amazing, even with supersonic ammo but especially subsonic! Definitely on my list of wants now.

Thanks Kyle! Your videos look like a blast. I would love to wheel in AK. Definitely coming next summer and we are contemplating moving to AK. I told the wife we need to visit in the winter to see what it's really like. Delta in the winter is no joke.

Thanks for the compliment, I can't wait to get some better stabilization for filming.

You thinking about moving to Delta? Better buy some warm gear and love the winter.

Yes sir. Anchorage area or the valley would be a culture shock but better than -60 Delta winters. Delta would be the place though because my wife can work on base with her dad and we would have the inlaws in town to help out. Jber would be the other option for my wife to get a job but we don't have family around anchorage so we would both need to find jobs. I'm a teacher and I'm pretty sure I could get a job teaching around anchorage but it looks like the anchorage school district is always laying people off. we are still talking and working things out but are strongly considering Alaska. I just don't know how I would feel about moving close to Anchorage (no offense to any of you guys that live there but the "city" isn't really where we want to move).

With that said I was really impressed by how epic the scenery and adventure opportunities are literally right next to anchorage. You dudes in AK have some epic adventures.

Yeah my dad is a teacher, and ASD (Anchorage School District) is causing a lot of grief among teaching staff and principals.

Honestly the list of trails and destinations I have growing rapidly on my laptop show a lot in the Valdez-Glenallen-Delta area. Also good hunting right around that area as well.

Yes sir, I'm a fly fisherman at heart but my father in law is big on hunting so I could learn from him. We took the trail by those lakes and Donnelly Dome in a stock Tundra and drove about a mile Offroad. The trail that goes right under the Pipeline from the Richardson hwy. that was fun. I've seen one other gentleman who posts and is in Fairbanks (mxpatriot I believe) he wheels around that area as well. My taco is not equipped for AK winter so I would need some accessories for sure before winter driving.

Is anyone else interested in a long weekend or week of wheeling come next fall? I am going to try and get a moose or caribou and would also like to take a long wheeling trip. Maybe hit 5 or 6 trails or find some new ones out by Eureka or greater Glenallen area. I think Dean (white, 5th gen T4R) is interested and another friend of mine, Tyler is as well.

In case anyone decides to head out to the Jim Creek area on the Knik, be careful. I went out a couple days ago to let the dogs run and made it to the really big area after the main trail. The majority of it is washed out and I couldn't find a trail wide enough to get through with the truck. Decided to just motor across some of the water and found the silt bottom was much much softer than I thought, or even what I typically see out there. Without a high lift I would've been calling for help before the tide came back in. Just go prepared and preferably not solo. Made it out, but I was definitely a bit nervous.

Things like this make me think we should get a list of people that could help in recoveries. Urgent if needed. Not sure where to make and distribute a list though.

that would be extremely helpful to start a thread with whose located where.. obviously prior to off roading to touch base with those individuals just in case they needed help. exchange information.

Anyone hunt the Nelchina Caribou Herd? I'm planning on going with a friend over December and again next August.

That definitely wouldn't be a bad plan. Especially since many areas around AK have spotty cell service. I'm sure many folks on here are well equipped to help with recovery, and wouldn't hesitate to help out. Just don't get cocky like me and think you wont run into issues! I've been out to Jim Creek more times than I can count and got caught this time. If a group gets put together don't hesitate to throw me on the list for Anchorage/Valley help, as long as I'm not up on the slope.

I hunted this past August. Posted a few pictures in the hunting section. Are you familiar with the Alaska Outdoor Forum?

Not really that familiar with the forum, but I think I have an account. I'll see what I can find over there.
