@EatSleepTacos how confident are you that I wouldn’t need UCAs with 884s? I had been thinking 885s but for less than an inch difference and not needing UCAs makes the savings seem worth it. Thanks.

I'm extremely confident you won't, with the caveat that every truck is different and every driver is different. I have 884s on my access cab which lifted it ~2.75" and I'm still on stock UCAs. On my previous truck which was a DCSB, I had 885 coils that also lifted it ~2.75" and I also stayed on stock UCAs.

With you you'll be lifted even less, so your alignment numbers will be even better than mine.

@EatSleepTacos okay thanks for the reassurance. I need to do some other things to get this new-to-me ‘09 where I want it so I think the 5100/884/aal seems like a good idea. The more I read the more I feel comfortable doing the install myself. Used to work on my TJ wrangler a lot and swapped the suspension on it so this shouldn’t be too foreign.

It isn't too bad an install. The worst part on the few installs I've done was the AAL, and getting enough room between the axle and leaf pack for the new centering pin. On my most recent install I just completely removed the leaf pack, and that was a little easier. I've got a few videos I can link as well that are extremely useful if you want.

    Yeah that’d be great. Thanks!

Seems like most guys go with @HeadStrong Off-Road for that setup. I’ve read a lot of good things about them. I’ll have to give them a call.

They're good people! I go through @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc for my stuff. If you send them a PM they'll get you a discounted quote. Here's the videos I was talking about. The second set of videos is really just useful to showcase disassembling shocks and coils without a coil compressor. The first set covers everything else.

1.75" is what it netted me back in the day. I didn't even need an alignment.

Also, Wheelers FTW. Fuck dumping money into CA.

Sounds like a plan :bananadance: We try to have very competitive pricing but if you do find the price lower somewhere else on the exact same items let me know and I will do what I can to help you out

I have a DC 4x4 with 884s/5100s. added 2.25" on stock ucas. Alignment is ok but ucas would help. Its not bad though. Ive been driving it like this for roughly 25k.

Okay thanks for the heads up. I’m planning on ordering the 5100/884 setup today and will cross my fingers I don’t need them. Although if I do need them it’s not the end of the world (just want to spend the extra $$$). I don’t really do much off-roading and my truck only sees about 5,000 miles per year since I just jump on a bus to downtown for work, so I’m hoping even if the alignment isn’t perfect, it’s not a big deal to me.

I have 885 coils on 5100s all around with Deaver AAL in the rear.

The front is a little nose high, so I probably netted just short of 3" or more in reality. But, I'm ACLB with a 2.7 motor

I kind of think this is funny because I keep seeing you say this "Fuck dumping money into CA." You do know that King, Fox, Bilstein, Icon, Deaver, Pelfreybilt, Camburg, Total Chaos, Maxtrac, along with other manufacturers that I am sure I am missing, are all located in California so regardless of who you buy your suspension from you are still giving the money to CA. And besides that I, personally would find it hard to judge a company just because of where they are located and not shop there because of that.

Quick question in relation to 5100s all around, OME 885s and AAL for rear .. did any of you guys need to also do the needle bearing change or carrier drop installation to fix any vibrations? Sorry if this has been asked before but this is the only thing I worry about when it comes to doing this. I already have a spacer/block lift (bought it like this last week) and I get a little bump when taking off. In the FJ I had previously this was fixed by greasing the zerks on the driveshaft U joints.

There is no ACSB, so you only need to say AC.
