I bought a set of tires using this. I just used two different ebay accounts and the same PayPal account for both.

For anyone curious like I was, Discount Tire Direct said that you can order tires online and bring them into a local store to get certificates. They do offer tires with certs on their store but you can't use them at a local store, it's mail order only for them

For what it's worth I had my local discount price match a set of car tires with the 100 off. Have to pay tax, but he gave free installation which made it a wash since the tires were fairly cheap at $600 ($60 tax, $16 per tire to mount=$64). This may be worth a shot if you're in the market for cheaper tires as I was able to get him to discount the certificates as well. All in all out the door price was a few bucks less than ordering online and then paying to have them mounted without certificates.

Obviously if you're in the $800+ range and can get 2 $100 off coupons with separate accounts, then that may be the better way to go (that's what I ended up doing for my 4Runner tires during the March deal). Since tax on $800+ of tires is reasonably more than a local shop mounting the tires.

He had to get approval from a manager, who was one of the nicest managers I've met. So your mileage may vary on what your discount can swing depending on their mood.

 

Bump, any idea when this sale will be going on again? I heard that it is semi annually done

 

I believe they usually run it in March or April

 

I think last years may have started either last week of feb or 1st week of March

Thanks for sharing. I think everyone is waiting for the $100 off $400-450 and that doesn't include getting the rebates. I got $100 off 4 tires and got a $60 rebate last time.
