Yep. OR Owners are always listing their shocks and coils when they lift their trucks. My set some in a couple days.

Look in the 3rd gen marketplace for some take off trd off road front struts and coils and rear shocks. The trd off road rides much smoother and lots of people take these parts off with low miles to install a lift. Normally you can find the parts for a couple hundred dollars and install is pretty easy.

Play with the tire pressures a little, I thought the doorjamb had the stock tire air pressure listed for 26 PSI, try that and see if it improves.

Another recommendation would be to either replace the shocks with 5100s or replace the shocks and springs from a TRD OffRoad truck that has the Bilstein 4600 shocks. Many Offroad (OR) owners have removed the stock suspensions and are selling in the TW Marketplace or Craigslist. That would be the cheapest solution but I'd recommend test driving an OffRoad model first to see if you like that setup.

If not you can always just dive in and buy the Bilstein 5100s.

    Aren't 5100s digressive?

That would mean that generally theyre going to feel 'softer' at higher speeds, and stiff at lower speeds, I think.

For soft 'around town' speeds and less jarring bumps, you want to look for something progressive.

Swap out for stock OR coilovers/shocks. Night and day difference if you're not looking to lift the truck. I test drove a sport first before the OR and it definitely was a lot bumpier.

Too many trucks these days are bought by car owners. Rides rough, handles bad, poor mpg, where are the luxury car features (insert previously owned luxury car brand here) threads being started daily. It isn't just here, it is across all threads and forums of all makes and models trucks. It has become prevalent in recent years as trucks become a status symbol and increase in price astronomically with all the box checker versions people demand that has the same features their previous luxury car had. The truck doesn't ride rough it rides like a truck which rides light years better than trucks even ten years ago (if it does ride overly rough it is because something is wrong).

If you want it to ride softer, buy shocks and springs that cater to desert driving, something from King, Icon or Fox will make it ride softer...

So new truck, sport, with stock tires.

Just change the shocks or get used to the ride.

    Sliders, 6112's, full skids.
If you want a softer ride I would go with 4600's, unless you want to lift your truck in the future or you off road a lot. I switched my stock Hitachi shocks with 5100's. As stated before the 5100's are digressive so they react poorly to small fast hits. Although the overall handling of the vehicle is better, and they are exceptional at slower speed off road, they may be too stiff for your needs.

Hey man I just picked up some off road coils and shocks from a 2017 off road. I was wondering if you have put yours on yet? If you did, how do you like the ride? Any difference? Also, did you put them on yourself or paid someone? Thanks in advance!!

Yeah, i put mine on a couple of weeks ago. Definately worth installing. The ride is softer and not as jaring as the sport suspension. I did the install myself. The rears were the easiest that took about 15min per side or less. The fronts was a little more challanging at first until I figured out how to get the coil over assembly off. After watching a yputube video, it came off with no issues.

Hello,. I know this is an old post but what did you install and did you like it? I've had my trd sport for 3 years and love it but the roads near me are horrible and it's like I off road everyday. I'm curious what helped you. I'm considering the 5100, 6112 or fox 2.0 (as the fox is linear/progressive). I'd rather do this once ...

He said he has had several trucks. Pretty sure it's just the harsher ride of the sport.
