Thanks! I got it from auto anything dot com. We wanted one ASAP so we bought it at their regular price. If you plan on buying anything from them, I recommend waiting until cyber Monday since they have huge discounts on most parts that day.

If you buy any thing from there you need to look up Mike @eccracer104
He may work there and can get possible discounts on many items. Some items not so much

Replaced my TRD Pro oiled air filter with the AFE dry, washable one that I bought on eBay.
    Never liked oiled air filters.
    Afe supposeably ~29% more airflow.
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/AFE-Magnum...4-Toyota-Tundra-V8-5-7L-31-10247/142170307779

The other interesting thing. I was buying some wheels to switch out on my totaled 2016 MGM Tacoma TRD via Harvey and the guy who is retired had this moded 2017 Tacoma MGM Sport. I was like man I had the same color on my TRD but it didn’t sparkle and shine like his. I asked him what wax he uses. He said none. He only washes his truck with water and a micro fiber cloth. He said he has been rebuilding cars etc for years and when he has bought a new vehicle he says not to put anything on the clear coat.....he said because that is what the clear coat is for.....
So with my new 2017 QS....that’s what I have been doing so far....no wax etc.
    It’s slick....and well looks amazing.
Anyone with similar experience or knowledge? Just curious.
    I usually use Colinite wax....

May I ask for a closeup picture (if you got one) of those step bars? I've bought the same, but haven't picked it up yet.

I started using a paint sealant instead of wax with this new truck and it’s far superior.

I'll get some tomorrow when I pull the truck out of the garage. The first thing I did was paint 12 bolts and washers flat black since all the hardware is unpainted and only those 12 bolts and washers will be visible. I also painted the bolts that hold the step covers in place. Those were unpainted as well :frusty:

Not sure I would trust that...I’m sure it keeps a shine without wax, however I have seen the elements, acid rain, and bird droppings especially eat through the clear coat and leave a mark that will not buff out. I think a good coat of wax will help protect those situations.

SurfratTX, your friend is correct, the clear coat is to protect the paint. And it will look great until it doesn't. Wax protects the clear coat to keep it from deteriorating and being damaged which will happen over time.

I just did mine with Pinnacle ceramic paint coating V2 and really like how it turned out.

I just ordered these before the group buy ended. I hate having to spend money on things that I feel should come stock with a 2017 truck! (remote starter, pop n lock tailgate, etc....)

Yup, steering wheel feels a little tighter and I'm only at 2.8 caster, can go up to 4 I believe.

Always use wax or sealant to protect your paint. A paint job in good condition won't shine anymore from wax, but it will proteect the paint. A microfiber towel is terrible to wash your car with as well as it doesn't trap dirt and just drags it across the paint creating micromarring. Ask any detailing forum and they will say the same.

I typically use Collinite 845.....lasts about 4 months in the Gulf Coast heat/humidity here....good stuff.
Was just an interesting take from him.

Not exactly today, but the result of the last few days:

    - I am now the 1,230,345th person to replace super shitty OEM grille with the Pro one, no regrets
    - Installed hondogarage knobs, man that was a lot of work
    - Got 2/3 of the way through this: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/premium-audio-upgrade-for-less-than-250.510424/ -- will get to the back speakers at some point, maybe.

Next, maybe I'll remove the front license plate if I feel like getting some tickets.

Are the TRD Pro faux grill exact same quality and build as the Factory TRD Pro grill ?
I see them on all of my friends trucks.

My understanding is that I bought the OEM Pro grille, so I assume it's the same as factory? But, eh, who knows.

I plasti dipped my grill, badges, and bumper and it has went through 5 power washes now and looks the same as when I first did it. I put 303 aerospace on it, which removes the rubbery feel and makes it super smooth.
