    Don't get cheap.

I like my porter cable. Great starter machine, but I'd like something with more umpf. Just can't afford a $500 Torx right now lol.

Buy for quality and use not because of price, you'll regret it.

My girlfriend pointed out this little area today. Doesn't look like something that came from the truck being driven, probably got it like this. It's about 1mm by 1mm. So it's barely noticeable. Any way to fix it?

A paint pen. Looks like an itty bitty nick.

Dude, silver is the second worst color to get if you are going to be that obsessive about your paint job lol.

Haha i know I shouldn't be so obsessive. It's actually raised so it isn't a nick. Guessing it's just an imperfection off the lot and not much to worry about?

I would take it back to the dealer. I would worry about rust spot underneath. You don't want paint to start coming off later.

I'm definitely keeping that in mind. I think at this point I'm going to live with it, but if I notice it beginning to spread I will be doing just that. Looks like I have 60 months warranty on sheet metal rust.

Does Toyota have relatively soft paint compared to other automakers?

Lately on my drive home I'm starting to notice swirl depth scratches coming off my hood scoop where rain water typically runs down my hood while I'm driving.

Swirls and scratches are inevitable but I still feel that's a bit ridiculous where dirty rain water makes marks in my paint LOL

I wouldn't call it terribly soft, but it's definitely not as hard as some of the paint found on certain German vehicles. Although I haven't measured paint thickness on mine, I'd believe it isn't very thick either. That said, the paint on my 2014 is hands down the best factory paint job I've had on any truck I've ever owned.

Look a the bright side, Super White does a better job of hiding minor marring than many of Toyota's other colors.

    Never.

I use a sealer. That lasts 6-12 months. Wax lasts 2-6 weeks and is a bitch to apply (IMO).

About this, maybe 3 times. Mine is always in a garage so it stays good. I use griots spray wax after washes. That works nicely too.

Never. Waxing is not worth the effort. I use a ceramic coating. Easier to maintain and doesn’t my off the truck like wax

Yep! It’s th best fabric guard out there.....wife uses it for her stuff she crochets too.
For seats like the front ones reapply about every 4 months.
I also use it on my carpeted TRD OffRoad floor mats.

I just had my ARE Overland cap Linexed.......the Overland already comes with a fade proof section of Linex. When I went to get the whole cap sprayed I paid an extra $100 for the fade proof Linex paint, $675 total. The Linex coating is fricking bullet proof hard.

I put on a coat of Colinite wax.....then a few days later used this product:
    https://www.mckees37.com/hydro-blue-coating.html

I’ve had the hydro blue coating on for over a month and it still repels water like the first day.....no water spots etc. it’s wicked....you wet the car....spray on a section then immediately wash it off with water. Just bought a gallon of it for my other cars.

Also used their glass sealer....best described as RainX on steroids.
