Yup I got the nipple version too...at the shop it's easy to just bring the drain tower over but will definitely be nice in the future doing it at home if I don't work at the shop anymore.

I'm gonna try and just sit a bottle/cup under the filter drain but may try and find some fuel line or tubing in the future to drain it directly. I just don't know what ID size I need.

I used to use a hose. Now I just crush a plastic water bottle under it. I find the latter approach easier and quicker.

That's kinda what I was thinking, especially because it kinda sucks to get your hand down there. I know some guys hook a hose up then just leave it on there between oil changes.

Also just ordered some 3-lug battery terminals so I can clean up the rats nest that is my battery posts. Right now I have 4 ring connectors plus the OEM positive cable stuck on the terminal lug, and it's just horrible. The reviews were hit or miss as far as quality but it was the only option I found since the other options were the styles like below that only allowed four outputs. So we'll see. Also gonna clean up the posts, use some grease and throw on some felt post pads.

    Part I got

I have an MT so remote starts are harder to deal with. Curious to see your setup.

I am getting one week after next. From what i have read, when you park, you put on the e brake, pop it in neutral, press a button on the fob, get out, lock doors, and shut off with the fob. That way it knows you are in neutral with brake on. If someone unlocks the doors before the remote start is activated it wont work and you have to do it all over again since it dont know if its still in neutral. Seems like a lot, but worth it.

You happening to go to Safe and Sound? That's who I was researching probably last year but then got focused on other things.

Yeah, I'll never do it, to much remembering :p

And it only gets to single digits here which isn't cold enough to justify it.

The remote start that kartunes recommended to me was I believe a viper system. I didn't care about the fancy stuff, and it is only a 1 way since I can see the car when I start it.
I have the kiddos half the time, so it will be nice to have the car at least warming up a bit when I have them. I will probably not use it otherwise, unless there is ice or a good bit of frost that needs melting off and I dont feel like scraping.

Yup I just want something to start the truck when I'm nearby (home or firehouse), no other fancy features like security or whatnot.

I'll probably go by one day and see what options/pricing is.

@DOUBLLD recommended kartunes to me. I had mentioned best buy and he said dont go there. I knew they didnt do the best work, but wasnt sure where else to go. They are going to knock out the tint too while its there. Its over by the dulles town center. Go check em out.

50K oil change/rotation/wiper blades done. Water bottle under the filter drain worked like a charm, zero spillage. Fumoto drains pretty slow but it's nice to have zero mess. I just let it drain while I did the rotation and it was fine.

I did notice both my balljoint boots are split and leaking grease, but the joint is tight so might not worry about it for now. Also noticed my front tires were cupping a little bit so might get an alignment soon. Sprayed some WD40 in the camber bolts in preparation just in case.
