PM me your address cause I'm not sure how to do that. Not wanting to hijack the thread, but I love cigars and really my only vice. Btw the way I was in Austin Saturday for the game. Unbelievable! Next time I'm up we'll have to meet at Casa Montecristo or something and grab a smoke.

    @Solmimi
If his shocks are the stock factory ones then he most likely changed out the coil to a OME 887(2.5" gain) or 888(2.75-3" gain) coil. Also the rear is pretty high pretty close to how high mine sits so I'm sure its a 4" block he has under there. That looks sweet though I never thought you could fit a 35x12.5 on a 17x8 wheel (not very knowledgeable on tires) lol. After I did my 6.5" I had to add a driveshaft spacer as I didn't want to have a custom one built or have mine professionally extended. So I went with a 1.25" spacer and it pushed the driveshaft back into the transmission enough to where the dust cap (whatever it's called) is sitting flush with the opening and it only cost me about $85. I don't think it was thick enough so I might go back and get a 1.5" or 2" spacer.

Not sure if you got the chance to look behind the front wheels on his truck but since they kept he stock TSS wheels and no wheel spacers, you'd see the clearance between the wheel and the spindle and how it's only got about half an inch gap. It looks good overall though. I thought of keeping the factory wheels and getting bigger/aggressive tires but I started seeing the whole wide stance thing and with 20's from the guys in Hawaii and I fell in love haha. I'm working on getting some 20x12s or 20x14s within the next few weeks so excited for that haha.

Has to be a taller spring, likely OME as mentioned earlier. I went with the 885's myself because I don't plan on doing a plate bumper.

    Forgot a couple crucial things.

    1) The Maxtrac spindles will rust like a mofo (as you see on that guys truck). The coatings that come on them are crap. Lightly sand/scuff the shine off then paint in the color of your choice, and/or clear coat the shit out of them.

    2) Use anti-sieze on everything. When you pull apart the front, you'll likely find rust. I had rust and I only had like 7k of road driving on the truck. It's like Toyota doesn't use any...whatever.

    Godspeed.

@AustinNative how has your truck settled after installing the 885 coil? I know they do tend to settle after a while...I read up on Headstrong's site on the coil lift heights with the different sizes on the 16' Tacomas 2wd and the 887's show to have a lift of about 2.75" and the 885's to have 2.25".

I was thinking if they do settle a bit, if it'd be worth getting the 887s and it'll settle to about 2.5" and level back out as it is now. I just don't want my truck to have the nose high or the rake look. So I figure I'll ask you and see if yours did.

Honestly I didn't measure before/after lift because I don't really care about the numbers as long as it looks good. I don't think it settled very much. From the side I look dead level, from some angles it almost looks a hair nose high. Either way, I'm going higher in the back soon. I didn't want to do UCAs because that would open up a whole new hole in my wallet, so I went with the shorter coil with a lower spring rate, since I don't plan on getting a plate bumper. If you think you'll get a plate bumper in the future...don't go 885.

Ahh gotcha..yea I'd rather not have to get UCA's either so I'll probably do the 885's just to get rid of my spacers.

I mean really if you do plan to go plate bumper, go 887 or 888 to get that higher spring rate. 2.75" technically isn't enough to *need* UCAs....but I just didn't want to get that close.

I used Duplicolor to color match them, and some random high-heat clear enamel for the clear. I put almost a whole can per spindle, patiently waiting between coats. I don't think it really matters what kind of paint you use, just the fact that you take the time to do it before installation.

    Thanks again for the stogies!

I'll add to my reasoning. I would have gone taller, but I was also super concerned about fitting in my garage. I think, all said and done, I could have still fit in the garage with 887s....barely, and would have the option to add a plate bumper later.

I already can't go in most parking garages (once the up angles start) but I *must* be able to fit in my garage at home. Can't leave my baby just sitting out in the driveway.

For real man. That was even a deciding factor in finally going Tacoma over Tundra. Tundra wouldn't have fit, even without a lift.

I've had too many cars broken into out from of my residence over the last 20 years or so and my hard earned money stolen...had to stop the cycle since the cops will never give a shit.

Same here! Wanted a Tundra in the Inferno but wasn't close to fitting. But even with the lift, that's why I've been bugging the shit out of you, @Leo4x2 , @TacoTuesday91,@ChadsPride , etc. about overall height after 6-1/2" lift; it has to fit in my garage. Letting the air out of all four tires everyday would get old!:frusty:

Believe me, it was definitely a bit nerve racking driving home post-lift and crossing my fingers that I'll still fit. If there's one thing I've learned from real estate - garages seem to keep getting smaller.

When I was gathering parts for the build, since there wasn't very much information out about 3rd gens with the maxtrac kits, I was trying to figure out if it will fit like...

After weeks of following this thread, I can finally join in! Maxtrac 4" spindles with eibach 620 springs, taco lean spacer, rear 3" block with maxtrac shocks, 265s. Big shoutout to everyone here for offering information on their own builds, especially local @1stpeak for sharing his experience and saving me some headaches!
