I took a little drive up to skyline in the Pecos today to have a look at the world. 11,661 at the top of Elk Mountain.

Thanks, I edited my post to include location info at the beginning... a highpoint in the Pecos Mountains.

What road is that? Cannot find Elk Mountain on the map.

Found it forest road 646 off highway 63.

I'm just happy to be having some adventures again. Woke up to a chilly 46 degrees today... it sure made my cup of coffee go down nice.

You may not get to use that sleeping bag much more this year, but I think some day trips are definitely in order.

That's the one. Route finding gets tricky near the top, but a good GPS unit with an updated map will get you there on the first try.

^^^^ I'm feeling all cold now. My tent has no heater. That is pretty, though.

Nice post, Ron. It's always cool to see old bridges, and learn about their history. That one looks like it could handle some serious weight.

I've been getting out with the family, and got a few good shots in the last month or so...

Hey guys come checkout the cookout at TAV. We’re gonna have the Cummins R2.8 on display and in the TAV built FJ40! There will be 10% off all wraps for anyone present at the event. I will answer any of your questions you may have for any vinyl application needs. There will be 2 trucks that I just recently did on display at this event so you can see how they look in person. TAV will have great deals on Alu cab products, maxtrax, Baja designs and so much more! Hope to see the TW family come out and have great time!

Some pictures from Arroyo Blanco / Balance Rock Rd. near Abiquiu...

Notice the two hoodoos with huge rocks balanced on top at LR and LL of the photo...

MLK Day 2018 is next Monday 1/15. Does anyone have the day off and feel like doing some wheeling / exploring?

It doesn't necessarily have to be Monday, maybe this weekend or the following, but maybe we can get a group together. Anyone?

I need to replace my CV axles but I would be up for a meet somewhere just to try and meet more people.
