Hi, I've found a Tacoma 2003 on Craigslist in the Palm Springs, CA area and was wondering if and where I could post the link so people can advise? Thank you!

Here then? There you go https://palmsprings.craigslist.org/cto/d/2003-toyota-tacoma-sr-5-xcab/6324953239.html

My budget is really $7k max so this one looks interesting and it's really close to me, but I'm not familiar with Tacoma's like...at all!

Thanks for any advice you guys might have. I'm actually meeting the seller tomorrow but only out of curiosity as I won't be able to close a deal before a week or so.

    Cheers, J.

Looked a bit everywhere and it seemed fine as far as rust and corrosion, under it looked solid and "clean". I test drove it for 10 mins and didn't notice anything wrong, just the sound changing a bit from 2wd to 4wd, as in more pronounced for the latter. There's also that low or high stick that does what...shortens the gear ratio? What's odd is that the seller said he practically never use the 4wd only once in a while so it runs a bit, I was expecting 4wd be on at all times up there in the desert where you go in and out of asphalt all the times. Tires looked indestructible to me, he said with those you don't need 4wd. There's a bunch of papers as well, maintenance etc...

Overall it's in good condition just like mentioned in the listing, no bs on that end. I could make an offer capped at $6k, quick Edmunds valuation puts it at $5500 so I'm guessing he's expecting to meet in the middle. Biggest concern is 264k mileage, while I don't think I'll be putting 100k extra anytime soon I don't it to die on me in the next 10k.

Quick question if 4wd fails can you still run 2wd?
