    @Chaz84

Can you explain how you mounted the roost shield on the passenger side?

I'm mid install and the roost shield comes up and also covers about an inch of the shock body, which interferes with mounting the reservoir to the shock body.

Doesn't the roost shield go on the front side of the shock? And the reserviour towards the back? the roost shields are supposed to protect the rear shocks from rocks being kicked up from the front tires.

Not exactly, on the driver side yes because the shock is mounted at the rear of the axle. On the passenger side the shock mounts to the front of the axle and your suppose to mount the reservoir away from the axle.

    EDIT

I was able to get it positioned just right once in the shock mount. It wasn't looking right when I was getting it into position.

    Some stuff here and there
You should never adjust any coilovers without taking the insane pressure of coil spring's preload on them..... ever... Like what who would do that...
I can crank mine up (less preload) if I jack up my front end and use a lubricant and feather it up.. but never to crank it down... Like what

Install was pretty easy with the exception of having to find a 19mm wrench... I had the sockets but there isn't enough room to get them on the upper shock bolt.

Does the roost shield move up and down with travel?

It's attached at the base of the shock near the lower mount so it moves up/down with the axle.

Very nice detailed info. Where do you find good deals for the suspension? Sorry maybe I missed it while zooming through...

Not sure what you mean by "clear". My truck doesn't really stretch it's leg very often. I opted for these shocks for since they are aluminum and adjustable. My truck sees the beach more than a trail but hopefully that will change in the coming months.

Are you worried about the roost shield clearing the resi and shock body when flexing, and then making contact with either when it gets compressed again?

Hey fellas, have been slammed at work...

Will try to address as much as possible...

The 0-1.5's used to come with the larger bushings installed and alternate (correct size) included, but Fox has changed this since I made them aware. They should come with the proper sized bushings now. No idea about the longer 2-3" versions.

The resi braided lines on my truck sit at a 90 degree bend; however, I will say that the last time I had the truck on a lift, it is clear that the roost guard is rubbing the passenger shock's resi mount. I tried to reposition, but it's pouring rain outside now and won't be able to get pics today. Either way, it's not bad and with how I wheel my Taco, some wear and tear is expected. Thank goodness for aluminum not corroding. It does clear the resi btw, just catches the bottom outside of the resi mount.

Lastly, this dang thing still rides like a dream. Large speed bumps at 50 are like, "hmmm, thought there was something there... Oh well, barely felt it... Back on the gas muhaha."

Is it possible to flip the shock so the reservoir is on the backside of the shock, and the roost guard is on the front of the shock?

How’s the cornering? Does the truck pitch/roll or does it stay level? I’m coming from 6112’s which stayed level but were a bit stiff for my liking at slower speeds. 45 mph and above they were great.

Also is it possible to adjust the coil overs on the truck? Hard/easy/not recommended?

    Thx

Chase, just realized you have your passenger side rear mounted incorrectly. The resi goes behind the main body and the roost sits free. Zero issues clearing the axle. You need to remount that pronto bud.

Cornering is sick man. I drive my truck almost as hard in turns as my old rice rocket Acura Rsx-s I used to have (every bolt on money could buy, was in the 12's with a 2.0 :D... I do miss track days). The 6112's are def way too stiff bc of their valving. I actually think both use 600lb springs so cornering should be similar.

It is def not recommended to adjust them on the truck due to the aluminum body; however, it is possible with super sketchy coil compressors. It would have to be a small adjustment for sure. Take my advice on three full turns up on the driver's and you'll be sitting pretty.

I thought it was mentioned that resi's should face away from the axle when you install them.

    EDIT

So I went out and flipped mine around... I kinda feel like an idiot that I didn't notice this at first. The roost shield could hit the resi mount under compression. Now that the resi is mounted toward the rear of the truck, the only concern is how much space to leave between the bottom of the resi, and the axle so that it's not bottoming out on the axle.

I have my resi mounted with the bottom lining up with the bottom of the shock body with no clearance issues other than the roost rubbing the resi mount. This would not be a problem if I moved the mount up high, but the OCD in me didn't want to scar up the Fox emblems lol.

There is no way in hell my resi's would line up with the bottom of the shock body AND not kink my lines. I'm maybe 1.5 inches below the shock body and maybe 4 - 5 inches above the axle.
