I'm trying to replace my cig lighter with a usb/hdmi port and I can't seem to get the original cig lighter out of the dash. I have the HU out (changing it also) and I can reach in behind it but I feel no clips to release the cig lighter. Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

No, there seems to be no sleeve to unscrew.

Been trying that with no success...just don't want to bust the dash pulling out too hard. I'll probably try to collapse the sleeve and pull out.

In order to get it out because I’ve done it a few times you pinch the little tabs in on the sides and then push it through. Tabs are a little tough to pinch but you can do it. Then just push it through.

Thanks..I did not want to take my dash apart just the HU out. I did get it out finally. It seems to have clips but they would not budge and my arms would barley fit in behind it through the HU hole, so I used needle nose pliers and kept crushing the sides in.

Toughest part of the whole truck :Dimage.jpg

Yep..I usually take everything apart a put back like factory, but been working way too many hours at work and did not want to take apart the dash. I was never going to use it again anyway.

Thanks for all the help guys. Love this forum.

Well i just looked at mine so heres some pics, it looks like there are two plastic tabs inside the outlet that need to be pushed out. Then a ring on the back side has 2 clips also that need to be squeezed once the outlet is removed.
