I'm getting ready to purchase a new set of tires... I'm going to bump up a size to 265 70 17. I drive nearly 100 highway miles a day (commute) so the weight of the tire is important to me. Decent amount of offroading on the weekends, camping etc.

What is a lightweight All terrain tire.. i most likely will go with a P rated tire. I've been looking at the hankook dynapros' rf10 (38lbs) but it's tough to steer away from the more "aggressive" looking tires. Any light weight "aggressive" looking tires that you guys suggest?

    Thanks in advance

The Duratracs in SL are one of the lightest aggressive ATs.

Because GY sells so many tires you will hear good and bad things. My experience has only been positive with them. Unless something better comes along that will likely be my next set of tires. I’m not sure what they weigh but the Falkens are good tires as well and I also think the SL Terra Grappler is a lighter tire but not that aggressive.

Yeah seems like duratracs and nittos are the hot topic around here.. I really like the weight of the hankook dynapro but wish they had a bit more aggressive look

I was getting gear up to buy a set of Duratracs..

    Until..

I have a big parking lot next door.. Many different vehicles park there... I see lots of different setups and tires go through there..

I've been keeping my eyes open and seeing what kinda rubber goes through there..

3 sets of P rated Duratracs I went over and spied on were worn funny.. on 3 different vehicles.. Ram... Jeep.. and a Chev

Not really liking that to much... 2 of the sets I spied were made in 2017...!!!

I believe there is a bit more love goes into the LT version.. The P version is just that... They take the sharp edges off the lugs... you lose 1/16" of tread..

The Cooper AT3 is a decent tire as well and also highly rated. I had some on my second gen. They clean out surprisingly well.

Well other tires loose more than 1/16 from P to LT, more like 4/16. How do you mean worn funny? I know several with the P and they are doing great with 20k+

TOYO Open Country AT 2s are a great looking aggressive all terrain. Probably higher up in price compared to others for the money but toyo makes a damn good tire. Dean tire makes Cooper so any Cooper AT I would say is a great tire as well

The tread blocks were not all the same height, especially the outer edge blocks..

I've run the Duratrac in a LT245/70/17 for years on my GM, and they wear great..

I'm just questioning the durability of these P versions from what I saw..

The Ram was the worst, It was a brand new truck.. Front and backs were the same...
