I will once I get it installed. I was using a spring and a 48" Firestick on my F150. I plan to keep the same setup whenever I get it installed on the Taco.

Is a firestick on a string like a jalapeño on a stick?

I am. 48" Firestik. If I didn't use a spring, I have no doubt that something would have broken by now.

rented a Yakima Highrise from the local outfitter over the weekend. It was a great experience into the RTT game without having to purchase.

Super fun, comfortable, easy to use, loading and unloading is done in minutes,

Driving, i could tell it was up there. added weight = lower gas mileage and wind resistance.

    Highly considering one now.

    Some cool mud flaps...
Install was super easy, took maybe 30 minutes with provided tools. I essentially looked up Yakima’s two-bar system for the access cab tacoma and used the part numbers and online installation guide to buy the bar, towers, and feet from the spare parts section of the Yakima site since I didn’t want two bars on the cab. Let me know if you need exact parts and I’ll find my old invoice.

That was due to their crazy leaking issues and shotty construction.

I forget who I was talking to recently when I was on the hunt. Someone had a buddy who had one and I was like oh. Well that’s out

No worries. There are definitely 2 verticals in the RTT game when it comes to foldable or soft top. There are expedition type and then your entry level. Huge discrepancy on pricing too. But be mindful that you would want to something that will endure harsh conditions.

that is really helpful feedback. while I have never seen other brands, CVT etc, person, I cannot compare quality.

Yakima is my first and only experience thus far with RTT's but there pricing seems comparable to other brands

I do remember reading a comment on here about someone saying the Yakima tents looked and felt cheaper than its competitors.

    It appears that is true.

I can get a good deal through work on them, and that is the only reason I would get it over another brand.

But - it also seems like over the long haul, i would be better off buying elsewhere.

There is a chance this might get a nod to move forward if 45+ join. Treeline sees an op and wanted me to see if there would be interest for a flash gb
