Dude, you're fucking fine. The rust you originally had wasn't horrible, and this "rhino" stuff looks like an encapsulation that stops any more rust from forming. Look up Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. It works the same way. The rust isn't some living animal that eats away at your truck from the inside out. You're good. Otherwise drive around for a few more years and sell the damn truck to someone who doesn't care so much about rust.

I think even if there is a little bit rust you will be fine. You seem like the guy who cares about his truck enough to stop it before it's bad.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
More than likely the coating on the stator or commutator winding failed. The heat of prolonged use will cause the coating to burn and eventually disintegrate. When that happens, the current will arc across the windings. It's basically short circuiting at this point. Seeing how you mentioned it was a $30 juicer, it was not meant for prolonged use...or you just worked it too hard Charlie...or even a combination of both. ;)

Guarenteed you have rust on your truck with all those years in the winters. At this point just enjoy the time you have left with your truck. Baby it, clean it, but don’t stress out about it. Just enjoy the one on one time, the small moments, tell it you love her, but just know that one day, it will be a goner all due to salt......

Eliminate as many points of entry for road spray, salt, etc. to enter the frame. No way to completely seal it off.

I just bought the frame plugs I could get part numbers for and gorilla taped the ones I couldn’t. I plugged the frame holes on the front wheel wells as I was told the tires would pack the stuff in the frame from there. Also hose off my undercarriage after the roads wash off in those rare instances the DOT does use salt. Again, I’m in the south so it’s no where near as bad here.

If they’re offering to do the coating, you should probably take it. If your frame rots through and you refused the coating, then Toyota will throw the responsibility back on you.

    Hi:

I got a letter from Toyota on 10/14, took the letter and the truck to the dealer were I bought it from on MOnday and they called on tuesday that they are sending paperwork to Toyota to aprove the repair. Last year it failed the inspection due to a hole on the frame, so I took it to a fabricator here (Iam close to the Pocono raceway) and they did the work and they know about this problem and they fixed the hole so I could pass the inspection but told me not to touch the frame because basically the rust was keeping it together. So I hope i can get this frame or buy out from them. I bought this truck with 39 miles and Have been happy since them.

Now the letter states, 12 years from first day of use OR 1 year since march 2017.
I t also comes with a stiker to put on the original book regarding warranty.

Your funny OP. Car is immaculate except... its not. Perfect mechanical condition except the A/c has a leak I havent fixed and instead just recharged it, oh and the master cylander was replaced LOL

I wouldn't freak out about it. If the frame rusts it rusts. Nothing you can really do about it.

If the frame rusts Toyota is more than likely going to have to replace it.

Not sure why you are wigging out.

What the others are saying about the washing is
Washing under the truck all the time isn't necessarily going to help you (in fact auto washes harm your paint, rubber and plastic trim, headlights Etc).
The frame has holes that go through it so you basically woukd have to wash IN the frame to clean it. So washing the outside doesn't gaurentee no rust.

Mine is a 2006 Colorado only truck that rusted from the inside out, we dont use salt often out here....

i wouldn't worry too much about the frame rusting from the inside out especially since your frame warranty just got extended to sometime in 2021-2022.

One thing you can worry about is that "Rhino Snot". All the rubberized undercarriage liners do is trap moisture underneath them unless the prep is perfect and even then there is porosity in them and the moisture gets in. If you really want to protect your frame get some old clothes on, get a wire wheel for your grinder or drill and start working on the areas that you can see surface rust. Almost every location you pointed out is C channel frame meaning you can get to every surface. Then put some good chassis paint on the places you cleaned up.

I think that stuff is just like Krown or Fluid Film. Not a permanent undercoating. The key is to spray it as much inside the frame as you can. Then you reapply annually. Truck will last a damned long time and as a bonus perk, nuts and bolts come out easier ect.

That stuff could also be used oil/grease. Some people do that. It helps with rust, but doesn't really prevent like Krown or FF does....and can also harm rubber unlike Krown and FF

If your frame does not have the frame plugs that were added on later Tacomas, you might have salt spray enter those frame holes, and rust out the frame from the inside.

I'll have to re-read my card. I don't remember the 1 year since March 2017. I bought mine new in March 2008. Haven't even hit 100k yet. I hope I get a frame instead of a coating, or I'm trading it in.

You'll most likely have sold the truck or traded it in on something else by the time you have to worry about rust. Stop worrying about it.

THIS. The Warranty Enhancement Programs extends warranty coverage for frame corrosion to 12 YEARS after date-of-first-use (probs when first titled) OR to May 21st of 2018, which ever is later.
