I didnt bother w/ the floor either. I don't think it'll be worth the hassle. Doors? noticeable improvement in bass/sound. Quiets road noise a little bit. Roof? Dampens raindrops :)

I have installed 91 square feet of Dynamat, Dynapad, etc and the most challenging was the headliner. This thread was critical in being able to do the roof. I have done the doors, floor, rear wall, roof and hood liner and the greatest benefit was from the doors. After that I would have to say that the floor would be next for quieting. I used Dynapad which is 4 layers with MLV (mass loaded vinyl) sandwiched between layers of foam to decouple the MLV. I would like to really thank @GHOST SHIP for his help with the headliner because he assured me that I could put 2 layers of CCF on top of the Dynamat in the roof. I do not have a roof rack so the noise on the roof was not a big deal but I live in Florida so the heat gain is a big deal and it is a lot better now. Hope this helps.

The roof was challenging, but it was also one of the more rewarding mods I've done to the truck. My original goal was to insulate for the heat that I felt when driving the black truck in the summer. I could clearly feel the radiant heat on the top of my head. I knew that sound insulation would be an added side effect of my work, but it does make driving the truck more pleasant. I will be getting around to doing the doors soon enough, just need to get off my ass since I already have all the material for the project.

Don’t second guess. The floor had a huge impact on reducing road noise and creating a lovely little box for a stereo to perform in!

SO what is the best product to use for heat reduction and noise reduction? And how many layers can be installed? Also, with the headliner off, is there anything to tamper with or mod while the liner is off?

You have enough room in the headliner to install one layer of mat and 2 layers of CCF (closed cell foam). I used Dynamat for the sound deadening but there are several other products that also do a good job. Just make sure you do not use a product that has asphalt in it since it will melt and off gas some dangerous chemicals which are bad for your health. For the foam you may use Dynaliner, Insolite, Frost King or any othe good foam products for the heat rejection. At the recommendation of @GHOST SHIP I used 2 layers of Frost King and it has worked out great and it was convenient to get more at the local Home Depot. The roof is only one part of the heat problem and the windows also can use a good ceramic tint. A good heat shield for the front windshield would be the last piece of the puzzle. Hope this helps.
